Does anyone know how the reverse gear engages on the 700xx?
I'd really like to know.

I believe the switch is on the bars, but I could be wrong.

It works the same wat as the 400ex but instead of a turn dial you have to pull on the leaver that is located on the right side of the bike close to the front fender and the key. You have to put the bike in first gear then pull the leaver and then click down one more time and it is reverse. One nice thing about the trx700xx compaired to the 400ex is that you can start your bike in revers.

You also have to be in 1st gear to be able to put it into reverse.

Anyone know of a way to move the reverse to the handle bars so you dont have to reach down... i know, i'm lazy.

I'm assuming the lever is just pulling a cable on the tranny. Makes sense to me it could be relocated.

I'm working on installing a set of ASV levers that have the hot start feature, which is just a thumb operated lever on the clutch perch. If all goes as planned, I will re-route the reverse cable up to there and be able to engage it from the bars.

Had to send these back. I got the wrong one for the brake side, but it looks like an easy adapting for the reverse lever up to the bars......updates to follow this week, with pics

New ASV levers came in, but they dont have the hot-start switch on them, so no moving the reverse lever up to the bars. I needed the one for the 450R clutch handle since it had the hotstart feature. When I get more time, I will order that one and finish the mod.
