I know these are "sport" quads... but i'm seeing some serious rock hills and i'm not gonna let my utility buds pass me up on this stuff. So anyone thought about putting a winch on the front?! :D

I'll remember that when I remind you about your "i'll tackle any trail" comment too.

I can't say that it hasn't crossed my mind to make one as I am the man behind the creation of KFIProducts.com. I could look into designing one if anyone is interested in a winch. I don't think I would put one on mine, but then again you never know.

I think next time i go up any STEEP hills, i'll just have someone hold the front end down with a rope - so it wont loop on me.

no winch heh. i flipped mine on a hill ... only because an asshat was standing in my path on the way up and I had to stop. More speed is all you need. Provided someone doesn't make an error and dead stop in a mudslop ... this xx will go damn near anywhere a ute will ... and will make it through provided you dont stop ... and if i needed a winch to go through something ..id much rather find my way around instead of a ... stopping to begin with..or b totally fucking up a good trail with needless ruts.

thinking about it a little more ... i suppose if i was riding with some less-experienced weekend warrior type guys or whatever ... and there was a very portable type winch available ..i might be apt to install it ... its always better to winch one of the asshats out of that mudslop you knew yourself not to stop in than it is to go push something out and getting all your gear full of mud while the guy that was stuck laughs at you ... all the while he or she not knowing thats the last time they go riding with you haha.

I figure ... there are 2 kinds of riders ... riders that enjoy the challenge of putting the hammer down and weaving through the bullshit ..and the kind that would get a freakin tank stuck in a pasture ..ya know those guys that think 4x4 is an absolute must only because they haven't figured out there are other ways to get things done other than tearing up trails and causing horrid ruts for the rain to come wipe out trails later...the same guys that have given atv riders a bad name and thus being the reason atv's are not allowed at many of the places they once were.

I'm already looking into it..I put one on my raptor..It worked great..With irs on the xx people are gonna end up going threw deeper mud than they would normally on a straight axle..The xx was made to be a cross over..A winch makes sense..

If you do any winter riding, it's sort of handy at times... If you're a good fabricator you can rig up a nice quick remove system...

XX + Mud Tires + 6 Pack Rack Fulla Cold Ones = Need for wench lol

True the idea of the XX was to try and pull a mixed crowd of sport and ute owners so if your intent isn't to pound trails and jump dunes then slap one on there

I would be definetly interested, now I know warn makes a kit or two for the other sport honda's would these work on the 700xx

I am all for a winch..... Or an airtight airbox/stealth snorkel for the deep stuff.

In my opinion, I bought this bike for its hybrid capabilities. I would love to have winch and snorkel.. maybe even dare I say it???? 4WD. The we have a kfx700 I know, but still. It would be much more sport oriented. And if we needed power, well we all know plenty more is on tap if we uncork.

why not?.. for those who ride in real woody trails or rutted terrain, it's a good idea and you can barely notice it on your quad... just mount it right behind your bumper, and with a little work, it's like its not even there... check this out

I have a winch on my 4x4 foreman and if they had one I would put one on my 700xx. even if it was just for the weight to hold the front down more. (not all of us 4x4 quad owners tear stuff up like "trailin me" thinks. I would look more at the 2 wheelers for that damage)

I'd love to see a winch mount for the font of my 700xx that didn't require completely replacing the front bumper. I've seen a few that replace it with a much larger chrome bumper but the winch is mounted back closer to the frame. seams to me you should be able to fit a modest winch in there somehow with out ditching the stock bumper. I just done have the time to mess around with making a custom mount myself.

I've really wanted one since the first time i got this beast stuck in the mud. It's a lot heaver that I gave it credit for. Plus i normally go riding in wooded trails with a bunch of friends. Some of them have 400exs and they got stuck a lot easier that this guy does. I'd like to winch them out before a rub in the superiority of my 700xx :D

If ya'll wanna put a winch on ya'll bikes might as well put a lift kit and outlaws and take it to mud nationals.

I'd vote for him if he ran for office. That was well said. He sounded like he was describing my area. The kids around here have things so torn up that, land owners don't want to let anyone ride.:yay::yay:

I would love to install one on my 700xx if you made like a bumper/mount for it! Would add some nice weight to the front to help with the front end push! Please come up with something. I bet it would be a hit

i would like a setup like duravette, i got stuck between roots once that a winch would have esily helped with. then another time i made it through a hole then got stuck on the return trip.

I'm looking into making one for mine, I've seen someone has made one on here, but I'm going to try and make it alittle higher up on the ATV. this will keep it out of the mud plus make it easier to work on if u need to. Looking at welding up something with the proarmor bumper I have. I'll keep u posted.. As we all know what sounds good in the mind doesn't always work out that way.

I would, in a heart beat. I've been hung up to many times with no one around and have to work it out by myself. Can't say i enjoy that a whole lot considering that 700xx gets heavy when its stuck.

+1

and NO I would NEVER put a winch on this bike. If you need a winch on the xx you have the wrong quad IMO.

I have actually done that lol. I'll have to find the video of it. My buddy in his raptor tried the pit got stuck. I had to pull him out with my tow strap then proceeded to go through that same pit 2-3 times on my XX with no problems. I will try to find that video and post it soon

Personally I wouldn't mind the weight on the front. I know the XX is heavy I just wish it was more balanced in weight front to rear

I hear ya on that one. I had to hang the upper half of my body over the bars to try and keep the front down with 58hp, its going to be scary with 90.

The xx is the best trail bike imo. But my buddys have raptors, ltz's, 3/400ex etc. I personally would like to get them unstuck easier. And sometime the area is to small for a towstrap. I am gonna put one on, along with a homemade trailer hitch.

I wouldn't add a winch to my quad... for the simple reason it really wouldn't be needed. I've been able to power through everything I've tried. I might feel different if I lived in an area where there was deep mud, but I don't so screw the winch. I will on occasion carry a tow strap... for other quads.
