just got my XX the week before Christmas and decided to take it to the dunes to see how it does. didn't have paddles so most of the other bikes killed me on the drag strip but non of them could hang with me across the washboard or any other turns or bumps of any kind. this a good machine in the sand.

Sorry man, but all it takes is a split second and it's game over. A guy I know was killed this summer riding without a helmet. He was just putting down a trail, lost control and the quad flipped over on top of him and crushed his skull. He wasn't like a close freind or anything, but still, it was a shame, and a helmet probably would have saved him.

I have seen people out on the trails without them and it just seems crazy to me.

Yeah, that sand is very forgiving, and 90% of the time I ride with one, but honestly most of the time out there I'm climbing soft sand and seldom make it out of third.

Also, did you check out the part of that place called "area 4"? It's near the cement plant and has some really cool places to climb.

Pretty much. Others have done it on stock tires but ultimately failed.


I tried it with angle paddles (and incorrect offset wheels) in the shallows of a creek on my 700xx and ended up putting it on it's side. :(

Monster or Braker duals for the 700 Raptor. A nicely built 734 with 12:1 or more and a big cam with duals will put down 70rwhp or more depending on the porting. If its built and tuned right the KTM wouldnt be a problem if its stock internal.

I'm thinking he went with a lower compression, but I could be wrong.

10.75:1 is real popular so that probably it. Hes on pump gas? 65-70rwhp still is about were it should lay on the dyno.

Yeah he's on pump gas for sure.

As I mentioned before he's running into electrical problems with relays and whatnot and is running rich. (the two are not related IMO)

He's getting really frustrated with it at this point as he is practically replacing everything electrical on the quad.

Yup, Getting my XX retuned this weekend also. Was supposed to be done last weekend but it was 100% humidity which isn't ideal weather. A front is passing through Thursday so It'll be back on the dyno.

I'm on call this weekend and the following weekend im going pick my XX from Picayune, MS that saturday and bringing it back to Houma, its been probly 4 months sense i even started or rode the thing so i may need a few hours to make sure all is good.
