Have you guys had yours out in the snow at all? I took mine out in the snow and it did real well up until I high-centered it. Guess some paddles would help a ton.

I hear paddles don't clear out the snow well.

I don't have experience though because it never snows where I live to be a problem.

I was fine until we got a real wet and heavy snowfall, even though it wasn't deep enough to touch the bottom frame it would push up in front of the rear a-arms and stop me cold.

I've done about 1k in the snow so far and it's awesome. I put 23-7-10 Maxxis Razr's on the front and 24-9-11 Bearclaws on the back. Runs through it like a tank.

Hello first post or reply ever.Have put 23x7x10 razor2s front 24x9x11 mudlites rear. Even in -26 razors grab and steer on anything hard snow pack 10 to 14 inches no problem. Rears however in the cold are like rocks. Went down to 4 pounds much better stubble field 10 inches of snow 3rd gear lean way back, watch out for approaching fench lines. 2 foot drifts not so good . Weather in central Alberta has been in the high -teens and low to mid -20s been out most of Christmas break global warming my frozen ass.

Wish i could ride my quad to the bar! haha

I like those tires! Seems the fronts might need to be a little bigger though?

Yes you can use them in the sand put it's not better then a sand paddle.

But in the snow the sand paddle are to agressive , with the Zipper you floating on the snow because the tread of tire are less agressive.

That's the better for the snow !

Actually it's not much different than stock tires. I have a buddy who has those tires on his z400 and he didn't do any better than when he had his stockers on.

I've been debating this setup with the 10's and Zippers. My son has the 4Snows and they're unreal in the powder. I've been waiting to see if anyone has any problems running the 10's. I run Quebec all the time.

They're both awesome machines. If I couldn't have both and had to choose, I'd take the Gade hands down.

I have heard that with Can-Ams you spend as much time fixing them as riding them. Is this the case? I'm sure not afraid of this with my Honda but Can-Am are sweet machines as long as they don't break down.

I believe more people would use them if that were the case (that wasn't a smart-ass answer)

The "paddles" would wear quickly and you would soon have some slicks.

I have a 11k on my 08 and it hasn't been in the shop at all. I can't say the same for my 07 Honda Rincon I had or my Son's 07 300ex. I have about 6k on my XX now with no problems.

They work good but they're designed for snow. If you do a lot of hardtop they wear fast.

Sweet. I didn't mean to sound like I was bashing Can-Am at all. I think they are sweet machines and I was just going off of what I heard from others, so I wanted to know from someone who actually owns one.

No problem... It's just some people yap too much about other brands. One reason is price, sure they're a lot but the bike is the most fun out of all the 4x4's out there. In a flat out drag there isn't too much that will take it in 300ft. The handling on the X is surprising for a heavy pig. It don't have the push the XX has. For my type of riding the XX and the Gade are made for me. I do major miles on a machine and I need reliability and I've found it with Can Am and Honda. Plus the Can Am comes with a 3 year warranty if a problem arises. It doesn't matter too much anyways for me because of the mileage I do, I have no choice but to buy new bikes all the time. I'm on my 9th atv in two years with over 30k combined.

Dang, that sounds like fun. I wish I would get to ride that much. Ya, I'm not at all brand loyal, I was interested in Honda just because I've always heard about "Honda reliability". I actually always wanted a raptor and when I went in to purchase my new raptor I came home with the XX. I know with either quad I would have come home with a quality machine, but I couldn't be happier with my XX, but I'd never dis any other worthy quad. I may say what makes the XX better than another quad, but comparing any two quads there is almost always some feature that one quad has better than the other and vice versa.

Hey Honda Man! Ca va! Regarde mes pneus avant! je viens de victoriaville en passant! Hey others this some kenda tire with all knobs grooves in the midle, also the zipper work with the paddle in reverse of sand tire it break better and it's easier to get the rear loose for nice 4 and 5 speed drift.file:///C:/Users/MILIE%7E1/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpghttp://C:%5CUsers%5C%C3%83%C2%89milie%5CPictures%5CDany%2 0700xx

I had a pair of Zippers on my 200x and they worked really good. I also have a set of pro wedges on my 350x and I think for traction on a hard packed trail, the pro wedges hooked a little better. The zippers are a cheaper copy of the pro wedge but the zippers have a little bit harder rubber so they last longer. I don't know if the pro wedges come in a 10' wheel though. I'm sure a set of zippers would be great on the 700xx though.

ran some more feild trials and collected data of snow riding today.
heres what i found:
1. it was cold
2. maintain speed to stay on top of the snow be careful not to hit the rider in front of you
3. the 700 is good up to about 2 1/2 ft of snow
4. reverse sucks in the snow
5. i am getting much stronger lifting 505lbs out of the snow.
hope this helps:yay:

I wouldn't use paddles! Just get some tires with good bite. Mud tires would work better! I've tried paddles for snow in the past, it was terrible. The XX is awesome in the snow. My 400ex would drag the rear axle and it would take me for ever to get going. The ground clearence on the XX is perfect. Love this machine!!!!!

I was riding my 350x this last saturday on the ATV trails in Clark County. These are not groomed either but they were beat down pretty well. Anyway I was with a few 4x4's and with my pro-wedge tires on the back (similar to a zipper or 4-snow) I could always hook better than the 4x4's in acceleration. Even when I hit the powder on the side and would get pulled into the ditch I never got stuck. I can't wait to try a pair of zippers on the 700.

So can the 700xx keep up with renegade? I am debating on purchasing a 700xx but am worried about how good it will keep up in the deeper snow. My buddies have the 800 renegade and sportsman 500. I can get a 700xx out the door for $5000 right now, seems like too good of a deel to pass up but dont want to be left behind either.
