I have an 04 450R that I race in XC events. I'm interested in the 700XX and seems it would be a good fit for me but I'm concerned it may not have enough power. My 450R is far from stock and I would like to race the 700XX in stock trim if I got one just concerned it wouldn't be powerful enough.Granted I don't know a great deal about the 700XX and info seems to be sparse.Has anyone raced one in XC yet?

its 10 more hp out of the box than the raptor... you do the same mods as your 450 you wont be able to control it.

You won't be disappointed, but the handling does take some time to get used to. After that you'll be very happy with it. (Well, at least I think you will.)

I haven't been beat by a 450 yet... even internally modded ones.

My roommate has a race ready MX yfz450 quad. Full exhaust, Full intake, Jetted, 13.5:1 piston. I jump him out of the whole 2-3 bike lengths and pull to about 4 lengths. Higher up, he stays there because of his weight and power. He also has revalved shocks that soak up the bumps in the sand that we race on, so i'm sure that's helping him too.

Poor Ben, he wants to get rid of that thing so bad.

Yeah, its a nice bike and it IS very fast... just hard to get it through the trails being so wide and no reverse.

Yeah he did very well with it in spite of all that. That quad just wants to go-go-go and not be stuck going around some tree or boulder.
