: Hello from NNJ

Hello from NNJ. I've been looking at different sport quads during the last month or so, and have decided to get the 700xx even though I do very little riding. I have a brute 750 sitting in my shop with only 43 hours on it since 2005. Are there any members in here from NNJ area? My problem is finding riding buddies around my area. I am an ex race car driver, and used to keep my quads in the race car transporters and ride them at around the facilities of all the tracks we raced at in the country. My favorite place was right outside the Las Vegas Motosports Park...endless desert. So after staring at my Brute force for a few years, I now have the itch to get a sports quad and ride again.

Our team raced a Solara body on a chassis car with the Supra motor. These motors make killer hp.

Oh yeah, I've been interested in imports since '92. Now I'm older with kids and only throw money at my quad. :)

Welcome to the site. Did you run the Streetglow Solara? I was hooked on running turbo bikes for a while, but the cost outweighed the fun.
These 700's are a blast right out of the crate

Yes, I drove the Streetglow Solara. The turbo bikes were so awesome to see go down the track. I was always trying to get the Santioning body to make the bikes run after our cars.....we laid down some good rubber. I bet they would have picked up a few mph and maybe 2 tenths had they run after us. But the track always wanted us to be big show with the 210 + mph runs to keep the stands full. I was always the last driver to get strapped in because I would be on the starting line watching the bikes.

I would suggest the black/grey one too. Then once you get used to it, you can UPGRADE to the faster one...LOL:lmao::lmao::lmao:

ha...as a paid race car driver I had to wear a purple driving suit for 4 years so I can probably handle a red bike. LOL

Good reply, i forgot about the purple suit. At least you were inside the car, not like R. Gadsen, dressed in bright green for the whole world to see.

These 700's really are a lot of fun, once you get used to it. It wont turn in stock form like a straight axle, but is real forgiving on the whoops

So if you had to do it again would you get an IRS or a straight axle?

IRS for sure. I have added some options to mine and it turns just as good as a straight axle. Sonic Offroad makes the rear sway bar setup. Major improvement

On the front and rear? or just the rear?

I realize out of the box the red bike is faster than the black one, but still I decided to pick up a black one up from the dealer today. I figured I should first learn how to ride these things before jumping on a faster one. Dave, if you're reading this post, allow me a few hours to get used to this thing and then I'll take you on against your red one. If I get a call to do a match race in Gainsville this year, I'll throw the bike in the team's trailer and maybe we can have some fun.

I only have the rear swaybar setup so far, but if thier front works anything like the rear did, and I am sure it will, I will be ordering it this month.
The rear setup is a piece of cake to install, took around 30 minutes total, without taking anything else off the quad. It corners well, slides when I want it to and still retains the IRS for the bumpy trails that we have here in Fl.

You're on..Quads on the strip.

Congrats on the purchase. They really come to life with the velocity filter and an exhaust. I have gone thru 3 exhaust setups and have found the one i will stick with...so far. Yosh slip-on is sweet, 2Bros slip-on i ran for a few months...kinda loud, and now i have the FMF full system, still to be tested on Sunday

Thanks, for your inputs Dave. I actually would like to know how the FMF Ti works since I prefer the weight saving over most things. Did you find much weight difference between the Titanium setup and the rest?

I'm guessing about 2lbs lighter than the 2bros, and maybe 3 lighter than stock. The entire exhaust weighed out at 8lbs. Not too bad. The powerbomb header is ultra-light and fits real tight to the head. Its gonna be hot, but I wear boots so i'll survive.

Maybe use one of those flexible cover used on a turbo hot housing as a heat sheild.

I have a full system on the 750 Brute Force, and riding around in the pit area I get 1st degree burns on my left leg.

The header sits in close enough to the block to keep from actually burning you but as I mentioned before my riding pants have a hole in them now...
