I am near the tri state area.. ride in the Poconos mostly... have some local trails but nothing great.

Was thinking snow shoe rails to trails would be decent.. Also a couple of rides near the RAC coming up.

Local site I use for riding is theatvzone.com. Great group of older people (no young punks)...

My inlaws are in that area, but it will be summer before I get down that way with the quad.

RAC is 22000 acres for $100 a year in treverton pa/pottsville pa.

Look on youtube for treverton.. mostly hill climbs on youtube but it has it all.. awesome place to ride.

also on theatvzone.com look at camp ziggy, $20 a day for camping and safe parking in private lot. a week long ride july 4th-12th is coming up. You have to show up in person to get a permit which I strongly recommend having.

I'm up for it, heading towards Dixon this Saturday then ziggy the following weekend, it's safe to leave your car there and they are all good people and the trails are great in that area.
As for the Coal mine trails, it was brought to my attention about enhaling the coal dust while on the coal trails so now I try to avoid them or wear a mask. Too old to lose my lungs.

Oh man... I wish I had read this earlier.

I just confirmed a SSRT ride June 17, and 18th with my buddy. He never gets time to go anywhere.. Also got a hotel through expedia that has a fee to cancel.

Not to sound ignorant but what is SSRT

double_0_xx
05-29-2009, 01:47 PM
SSRT is snow shoe rails to trails located near Penn State in PA (about an hour). Closer to bellefont.

ssrt.org about 100 miles of trails total so I am told, and the best part. Only $15 a year!

Says you are about 3 hours to snow shoe.. you should definitely check it out.

I bought the xx because i like to go fast, ssrt has speed limits, none of wich exceed 20mph. Not my kind of riding . I don`t mind puttin around on trails, But at some point, I just gotta let loose....

20 mph? Might as well get a rock crawler.

Nash04

Went to dixon today and it is rocky, some trails were good and quick but overall it was rocky and single track, started to get busy so I left...too many chances for a head on collision especially going down or up a steep hill

double_0_xx

suggested speed limit. 2 guys cover 100000 acres.. so yeah. I dont think they are sitting with a radar gun.

For example, a local place has a 30 mph speed limit. The terrain is tough, so going any faster is next to impossible. Some sections you can open it up.

Just like driving, be safe on corners, if an opening or opportunity comes up. Nail it!

Rule # (7. Slow Speed Zone (5 miles per hour) are designated in the following locations: All bridges, tunnel, residential areas near Clarence Archery Shop through Number 10, Gillentown. Speeds should not exceed 20 miles per hour in all other areas.) Doesn`t sound suggested to me. I`m the guy who would be wot in third right as one of those two guys show up. Then he would be angry with me and kick me out. BANNED FOR LIFE. As far as safe on corners, I raced micro sprints, corners are for getting sideways. lol...

Has anybody gone to http://www.rockrunrecreation.com/

FishersATVworld went there and supposedly it's real nice and fun. From what I can see by their maps, they have numerous trails. It's right outside of Patton, PA
