I would only be buying the fronts 1st but if you had to pick between compression or rebound only what would it be. I'm thinking either stage 1 with rebound or stage 2 with compression. I was also looking at fox's float R. Its the same price as elka stage 2 and has rebound only just like it. Trx tas, have you ever had a problem with the air leaking? I've heard you need to check the psi before every ride because it can go down.

going by elkas sight you can get s1 with rebound or s2 with rebound the s2 rezzies do not have the compression adjuster.
i like the fox floats but it scares me that if fails there is no spring to hold you up and you will not beable to ride out of where ever you are.

Check elkas website
Stage 1 + rebound 695
Stage 2 preload only 775
Stage 2 compression 940

All stage 2's com with rezzies, stage 1 doesn't. Fox Float R's are 700 and have rebound just like elka's stage 1. So back to the question would you rather have compression or rebound if you can only have.

i would go with the stage 2 with compression because your also getting a rezzie which will help the shock preform better

i have had no issues what so ever i do check my air before i ride takes all of five minutes but hay i check my oil before i ride i like them because there is so much adjustment yeah they have to be serviced every year no biggy elkas probably will need this to they are just so smooth to ride with how many top riders ride fox? i know wayne runs elkas however i am sure he could win on fox aswell also i was looking on a ltr450 forum and they were saying that at the big quad racers fox must have a bus there and they help you dial them in if you need help and will usually service them for free at the same time

Do fox's NEED to be serviced every year? I was hoping to get at least 2 years without messing with the inside of what ever shock i decide on.

when i brought mine they said a racer should service them on the off season if you only get a chance to ride twice a month like me should be good for two years but for the cost for me to service them i will do it every year why not look after your investment all i can say i have never rode a bike with elkas but i love my fox shocks and all the australian companys told me to go fox except one cause he did not deal with fox all the others sold both i did speak to one person who was running the factory elka shock the new one and he still went to fox

yeah the unlimited adjustment on the fox is nothing short of amazing in all the dirt wheels mags i would say 90% of racers in pics have fox. almost went with them myself but after talking with josh at wiigstyle we decided the elkas and houser set up would be the best bang for my buck. and yes even the elkas have to be service in a year or two but thats HI-PREFORMANCE for ya

Sorry one more question. I mite only have enough money for either barker big 3 or elka stage 2 with compression up front before GNCC race in New York. Which do you think would make me faster for GNCC?? My current mods are listed below.

for my riding, i decided to get the elka s2+ for my front and s3 for the rear. some of my friends swear by the fox shocks, but i like my elka set up.

wanted the compression adjustment at both ends... rebound was not as important for my riding and would have gone with the s2+ for the back as well, but they only come in piggyback and you need remotes for the back of our quad.... hence the s3's on the back.
