I dont know about the fan though. On my 450R that I did motos with, the fan would never come on, so I could remove it. But that was on dry days. On wet ones, a little bit of debris (ie mud) would get into the front of the radiator and then the fan would be on non-stop, however my other 450r that I rode for anything and everything else, the fan seemed to be on no matter what. I checked both motors and wiring, and even swapped out the temp sensors, and it didn't matter. They were both completely different. I would suggest running with the fan, b/c overall it is not that much weight, and if you think about it, while you are running MX and TT, you are pushing the rev limiter a lot (maybe not an old fart like you hehe j/k), so your engine will be running hot no matter what. If you are to remove it, I would highly recommend running it with it for a moto (say a practice one before the season) just to see if the fan kicks on. If by chance it does, I would leave it. It's just my opinion, but I would hate to read another thread where the club's favorite hero from England was in first place but had to shut his quad off due to it overheating on the last lap and had a DNF.
