So when I took my quad up to the dealer I noticed they had a red 700xx out front, then I noticed the price...

If atv's were $4g here I'd have like 20 of them. That price is disturbing.

If you notice, that quad is a demo, so it is used, but it does look brand new. I am sure after tax and all the other fees, it will still be close to $6k out the door.

They have had that particular one for over a year - as a demo. Pretty sure it has more than 5 hours on it.

From what I've heard a dealer in my area has a couple of 700xx demos for about the same price. I've been looking at both the 700xx and Raptor 700. What are the reasons to avoid demos? I know that the atv industry has been slow, and many manufacturers aren't releasing 2010 models. But, I haven't seen nearly this deep of discounts on leftover 08 Raptors. It that because Raptors are more popular so dealers charge more, or a sign of the future of the 700xx?

No reason to avoid demos! Usually come with the same warranty as a new one.

Gonna be in just as good of shape, if not better, than any used one you can find.

I wouldn't be too terribly worried about prices. When I was out shopping for my 700xx I saw 700raptors for same price as I paid for mine which was 4799 and I also looked a canam 450 ds for 4499 it was an 08 as well dealers are just trying to get rid of these old new bikes.

Honda's list price for a TRX700xx is £6049.= $9980
I got an Email with an offer of a new 2008 700xx for £2995 = $4942.
If Honda plans on not building any more 700xx ,I am ordering 2 with extra discount.
Only downside is I would have to sell my mint 450r , Which still has stock clutch and wiseco piston (which was fitted after 3 hours of ride time) I getting it MX ready and will post pics. Then you can see why I not willing to sell the 450r unless I have too.

The low prices don't necesarily mean the possible demise of the XX. Keep in mind, most of the great deals are for 2008 models. We're almost in 2010. Also even the Almighty raptor 700's are selling at about 5g's + on ebay brand new for the 2009 leftovers.

good buy on 700xx

I just bought a new 08 for 4977 OTD in Gridley, California. They had it advertised in CL. the ad also says demo and has a VIN number but the dealer said he had several. I had bought a 2000 400ex in 1999 from them. They are a good small dealership. The owner said that the 700xx came out when the economy was starting to tank. A lot of dealers have gone under. He even mentioned some of the larger ones in my area i had not known were closed. Honda Corp in an attempt to help it dealers get rid of stock is offering rebates or whatever of 3400 off retail to help them get some stock sold. the thought is also to get them out there so our friends will be jealous and want one once the economy looks better, hope it works
