Guys,
I have a question. I have had my 700XX for almost a year. When I am riding at speed and come into a switchback on the trail I cut through the corner 90% of the time without issue. But that 10% I get horrible front end "plow" and almost slide off the trail. It is like I lose all steering. I have owned several straight axle machines and never had this problem. It is robbing me of my confidence on the bike. I have been trying to figure out if there is any consistency when it happens. I am sure I may be doing something wrong as far as technique but can't figure it out. Anyone else have this problem?

Pretty much everyone on here had that problem with front end push. A lot of us solved that problem with a combination of the L8ton racing sway bar and new front tires with bite. Others have bought adjustable A arms to solve this problem. I personally have the sway bar set up and it works amazing, I can power slide with ease and I got rid of the front end push. I have the Kenda Klaw XC front tires and L8ton racing 11/16" sway bar. The xx still rides smooth as glass and handles awesome.

Others have bought adjustable A arms to solve this problem. I personally have the sway bar set up and it works amazing, I can power slide with ease and I got rid of the front end push. I have the Kenda Klaw XC front tires and L8ton racing 11/16" sway bar. The xx still rides smooth as glass and handles awesome.

+1 i have L8ton sway bar and Razr1 front, mine worked acceptable with stock front tires and the sway bar, but the razrs gave me a little better bite.

xx700xx said it pretty much perfectly. I'm running Kenda Kutter fronts and the 9/16" sway bar and mine handles pretty good now

i think it has more to do with the rear tires flexing and gripping and shoving the front threw the turns, i put razers on all 4 and the la8ton bar on it made a hugh difference

The reason for the push the 700XX has is to much castor in the front suspension. The only way to fix that is to install a-arms that have castor adjustment, then adjust so there is less castor. (Either wider a-arms or just a replacement upper a-arm.) Alot of said the stiffer swaybar does help the push, but to me, if the problem is to much castor, the sway bar is not fixing the problem, is is just covering it up.

No experience with adjustable arms or the sway bar on the 700XX, at least not yet. I do have experience with adjustable castor a-arms on my 450R's. When I ran alot of castor in them, I would have the same cornering issues that my 700XX has, so I do agree that the 700XX has to much castor in the front suspension.

We will find out if castor is the big problem once the group buy on upper a arms are on their way, Baxter is the only one I know who has them already and he always said how much better it steered after the install.

I still dont understand how it covers the problem up when it fixes it? Covering up a problem is fixing a crack in your air box with duct tape not installing a different sway bar. Like you said, you have no experience with either... Grain of salt. haha

Ok , so I am seem to be the only member that has Eds uppers .
I tend not to do things by the book as this year I will be racing stupid stuff like dirt ovals and grasstrack and TT and alot of XC and a beach race, maybe practice onna MX track. I run tire sizes for 23" all the way down to 18" , run frame height from 13" all the way down to the easy rider 7". I run 450r stock shocks,Elka s1 and soon Motowoz LT fronts.I have shorten stock rears and Wiigstyle modded rears.
You guess I could say "I have tried alot of stupid things".
Changing the castor on the front allows me to do stupid stuff , gets kinda scary some times , but it takes 2 mins to adjust (4 mins if you dont take youre gloves off!) and the xx takes it without a hint of push on the front end, sometimes I get the opposite and it tries to throw me over the bars.
I have no experience with the L8ton swaybar but have read enough posts that I will be ordering a 9/16 and 11/16 to help me out on the ovals and TT. When funds become availible.
The only downside to using Eds uppers is the stock front shocks suck even more .
Guess thats it. :D

Ed did measure the castor on the stock 700XX and he did say it had alot for a stock quad. I know a few others have bought them and they have also said how much better the quad turns.

How does it fix it? The problem is to much castor, how does the sway bar reduce the amount of castor? It doesn't, so in my opinion the sway bar does not "fix" the problem. Kind of like when driving around in your car you hear a rattle. Turn up you stereo and no longer hear the rattle, did you fix the rattle? No, just covered it up, but hey, no more rattle, so no worries. Not saying the sway bar is a bad mod, I think it has it place, it just does not "fix" the cator problem.

You are corerct, I have no experience with the sway bar but I do have experience with adjustable castor a-arms on my 450R. Years ago I was fighting a handling problem that I thought was castor related (turned out it wasn't.) so I did ALOT of testing with different castor setups. As I said, when I had to much castor in the arms, my 450R pushed just like my 700XX did. Turn the wheels and the thing would want to go straight. If you really want to be scared, put as little castor in possible in your quad and hit a set of whoops at speed, it is a eye opening experience!

The original poster said he had a problem with front end push. He didn't mention the castor... You did. Sooooo if the swaybar stops our front end push then it fixed the problem not cover it up. If you have a rattle and you turn the radio up the rattle is still there. With the sway bar the front end push is NOT there.

You ever thought why the swaybar helps with the front end push ?
I have and sooo blind drunk that , I can't even spell right !
I guess it stiffens the rear and also raises the rear , Kinda a adds little more preload . Which also lowers the front !
The front off the floor has 14" clearance and the rear only has 12", depending where you measure it .
Honda tried to correct the castor by putting smaller tires on the front. :D

Possible that 10% of the time you get lazy, and forget to shift your weight? I have no swaybar yet, but waiting on the 9/16". I run away from my cousin on his 700r in the woods. And there his trails "well by his house" and he's had his R since 2006. If the sway bar helps as much as I've herd I cant wait to run circles around him this year. He likes to spin around and lol at me cause I cant. It took him awhile but now he admitts I run away from him. Both quads stock on inside as far as I know.

i can ride my 700xx just as fast with the stock sway bar as the 9/16 or 11/16 its just technique it didnt take me very long to figure it out
