Does anyone know what a stock 700xx will top out at... in "mph"
Does not matter what the run up distance is... 2 miles, 3 miles or whatever.

In another forum, I posted that I hit a speed bump at about 70mph and went flying through the air screaming like a little girl. I was exaggerating when I posted 70mph... But one person took exception to the "70mph" thing and said... "highly unlikely". Never mind that he just didn't get that I was exaggerating... perhaps I should have said "700mph"... then he may have gotten it. I only meant that I was flying wide open in 5th gear. But, to be basically called a liar... "highly unlikely" really pissed me off since he didn't know what I ride.

I really need to know if a stock 700xx will get up to 70mph... I think it will and want to stuff his words down his throat... or up his axx! :birds:

That should be no problem on black top. Gary(SCUZZ) hit 68(by GPS) on dirt with a 13tooth front sprocket. It's generally accepted here that the top speed is around the low to mid 70's. So go ahead and tell him to stuff it!

BTW, he rides a yfz450r... I think that because HE can't get 70mph, he also assumes that no one else can.

I have balls of steel. I also had my motorcycle gear on - full face helmet, jacket, gloves, jeans, boots.

With the mods I have now, I can expect to top out around 92mph.

I hit 78 with a 13 tooth on black top. thats what the gps said. it took way less than a 1/4 mile. I have a k&n,fmf tuner,fmf powerbomb and fmf factory4.1 I kind of wonder what it will do with the 14t gear or a 15

Should have just took just over an 1/8 mile. Stock 700 Raptors usually top out in the mid 70s(unless you bypass the 5th gear timing retard) and usually its there well within 1000 feet. For an example I usually click into 5th just before the 1/8 mile mark at the drag strip and 5th is only just a tad taller than 4th.

I did 5th almost full throttle on a gravel track with bad fishtailing on last round of XC . No wonder ,I was worried. I also had no steering dampner and let the tires down to 3 psi.

They told him not to talk out of his axx when he clearly didn't know what he was talking about. I was wrong in my post... he doesn't ride a yfz450r... he rides a yfz450. If I'm correct, the 450r has the KTM motor and the 450 doesn't. Oops, my bad.

Heck, I didn't get my first quad until 2007, but I have a buddy who has the KTM 525XC and his son has the Outlaw 525 so that's why I know.

i hit 74 in soft sand recorded on a 300$ gps and i was in the middle of 5th i have the big 3 and stock tires and sprockets.
