Tomorrow is the "Bay To Breakers" race... 100,000+ participants. Kinda a combo of an actual 12k race and a freak show. Problem is, the race ends 1 block from my house. Many people drive to my neighborhood the night before, park all over the place, then take public transit home... They finish the race, walk to their car and drive home. The problem lies in that they park ANYWHERE... in front of fire hydrants, on a corner, across people's driveways, etc. OR, they have someone drive to my neighborhood to pick them up after the race... again parking just anywhere they want. Every year, I've had to have cars towed so that I could use my own driveway. My record for having cars towed is 3. Do I feel bad?... NO!
When someone thinks they have a right to park like that just because they're taking part in the race, then it tells me that they have no consideration for the people who actually live here. :birds:
Don't get me wrong, we are tolerant of 10s of thousands of people jamming up traffic and the street closures and all the trash they leave behind. But, that kind of parking arrogance is where my tolerance ends.
