Tomorrow is the "Bay To Breakers" race... 100,000+ participants. Kinda a combo of an actual 12k race and a freak show. Problem is, the race ends 1 block from my house. Many people drive to my neighborhood the night before, park all over the place, then take public transit home... They finish the race, walk to their car and drive home. The problem lies in that they park ANYWHERE... in front of fire hydrants, on a corner, across people's driveways, etc. OR, they have someone drive to my neighborhood to pick them up after the race... again parking just anywhere they want. Every year, I've had to have cars towed so that I could use my own driveway. My record for having cars towed is 3. Do I feel bad?... NO!
When someone thinks they have a right to park like that just because they're taking part in the race, then it tells me that they have no consideration for the people who actually live here. :birds:
Don't get me wrong, we are tolerant of 10s of thousands of people jamming up traffic and the street closures and all the trash they leave behind. But, that kind of parking arrogance is where my tolerance ends.

Now wait a minute. Do you you mean that you actually expect people to respect your private property and not block the entrance to that property? Thats just downright mean. Nancy Pelosi would be ashamed to call you a San Fransicko resident. Get on the socialism bus man, whats yours is ours. Geez

LMBO! I think you like doing that. I know I would. Or you could have put up a barracade to keep people from blocking your driveway. The best part would be seeing the look on thier face when they come back to there missing car. Priceless! lol

It was only 2 this year. The first must've left their car the night before because it was 4-5' across my driveway. Had to have it towed right away so I could park my truck. The other guy did the same thing... while I was watching. Told him not to leave his car there, it was blocking my driveway. He said he'd only be a few minutes and walked away towards the race finish. He was gone over 45min only to find his car gone when he came back. :steamed:

You should Google "Bay To Breakers" and check out some of the pics... You'll see why I call it a freak show.

How much do the tow companies in San Fran charge them to redeem their car?
In most cases it gets over $300.00 plus the cost of the ticket ($90.00 for the driveway)... Ticket + Tow + Storage
To get car back, you need to pay the above plus ALL unpaid tickets of ANY kind, Have valid registration, Valid DL, Proof of insurance. If you have expired insurance or tags, then those have to be taken care of first... usually resulting in at least another day's storage fees... or more if your car gets towed on the weekend.
I've tried putting notes on cars, painting my driveway curb bright red, and just having them ticketed and not towed. It hasn't helped.

My parents own a substantial amount of land, and every year we get hunters up there from NJ. Anyway, they have no respect for the land, hay fields or cornfields, and they like to take their little jeeps up there into the middle of it. So every year, we have atleast one A$$hole drive right thru the middle of the field or even park in it. So every year, we take some nice oak logs about 30" in diameter or bigger and place on all 4 sides of the vehicle. Then we sit there drinking some beer or shooting the bull until the guy comes out and is like WTF. After seeing all the posted signs and stuff, we ask them what in the world they are doing. Sometimes we get a response like "I thought this was my friends land" or "isn't this state property? We see all these other hunters here" Well, my parents have friends that hunt there, that park on the road and walk in, and pretty much everyone else just walks in. It's only posted to ignorant people. Anyway, when the guys figure out they can't get their little jeep out of there, they ask what they have to do. So far, my dad made $400 off one guy. I got a nice 12 gauge from another. That's just so they don't get trespassing tickets and destruction of property. So Roadkill, I may not know exactly what you mean by having lots of people park in your driveway, but I do know what its like to have dumb people drive on your property.
Oh, and one guy did it two weeks in a row....as in he wouldn't learn the first time. And it's not like we monitor the property, it's our friends that hunt there tell us LOL.
