After doing some night riding last week, I decided that I needed more light so while I was at WM, noticed they had some 55 watts driving lights for $20 so bought and install them today and will test them tomorrow night. From what I've seen so far, they're pretty bright. Of course I can not run both light system at the same time since the battery would drain too quick even with the engine running. Our charger is not that strong.

Correct!! But if you run all lights then that equates to 180 watts so it takes most of the load just to run the lights than takes longer to charge up the battery. The driving lights are bright enough that I don't really need our regular lights. Just hope there's no one behind me since my tail light is not on.

Your HID are running thru a Ballast? What's the wattage of the Ballast. The Ballast is what really produce/control the HID but that's cool you are able to run both at the same time, am not saying that I won't just don't need to.

ok so you both have hi and low beams still with HID...

Joe its something Mike or Doug would have to do for us...

verses a 24.99 bright white bulb
When you go to HID, you lose High/Low... I ran with High everywhere anyway. Furthermore they're so bright that you dont need high or low. They're insane guys.

Sure you could do that, it's not that hard to do but wait till I get the bulbs this week and will let you know how bright they are.

The HID kit is $$$
