How much more air do I put in my tires when running studs?
Normal pressure is 4-6 lbs.
When I was getting my tires mounted a guy came in with 1 inch spike studs bolted to his tire. He had 10 lbs of air pressure and spun the rim when he went to take off. The dealer ship said to run 20-30 lbs of air in the tires.
The guy was running a tube only inside the tire on a stock rims. He says it goes on a 3 wheel dragster. I think he should of had bead locks with this kind of setup.
I looked every where in the forum and was unable to find any info on air pressure for studs.
I am only running 1/2 in screws on the stock tire and rim. Recreational use only. Should I take my tires up to 20 lbs. so I don't spin the rim?
