Well to break them in I just use them around the house a bit (like a dumbass! lol) and after maybe the 2nd ride you wont feel they are there. For shifting I have never had a problem on the raptor or the 700xx my buddy has (I am a size 13...) but if you do you just have to adjust the shift lever a bit, no biggie.

yea... i just got a pair of Gaerne SG12's.... and they're REALLY comfortable right from the start... I also am a 13, but never had problems... I just wore them around the house, or just doing things outside and what not... it's just a matter of getting used to them

well i went for a ride today with my tech 3 boots and since this is my first pair of mx boots are you supposed to move your whole leg up to shift ? i cannot feel the shifter with the tip of my toes like i can with regular shoes.... and i cannot feel the rear brake at all it seems as if the rear brake lever needs extended

the easiest way to break in most mx boots is to wear your nicest tube top and fish net stockings and proceed to your local down town. try to walk back and forth within the same half block and stop at the corner where you should stand for long periods of time. just a suggestion.... others will obviously have different ideas, but this is how I broke mine in.

as you where walking you should have walked to the hospital for a physc eval hahaha.... i did get a kick out of what you said.... i put some mink oil on the boots and heated it up with a hair dryer to sort of soften the leather a little and iam doing like another member said and walking up and down stairs and out to my truck and all over in them also had to tighten the straps a little bit

Its just a part of the break in process, the shifter I can feel but the rear brake I know where it is and the "feel" of it. I have Alpinestars Vector boots, they feel like sneakers, they dont make them anymore I think, but worth looking for.
