OK, if you want a good laugh, take a look at this website... Note a lot of the pictures they use are sanctioned races in closed courses. They have one picture on a main page showing 2 kids getting splashed by a jet ski... Note what the kids are wearing...wet suits. Ymmmm, wonder if they just got off the jet ski??? In the video on the main page they show a MX event...again not on public grounds, a swamp buggie race which again is on private grounds...etc...

http://www.stopthrillcraft.org/index.htm

You would think if they are going to bash the off-road community, they would at least not use pictures of riding on private grounds and events like MX which are are not destroying public lands...

This is a quote from that site:

"For instance the traditional two stoke engine that powers many thrillcraft leaves as much as 30% of its fuel on the ground or in the water. And the operation of a single snowmobile put as much pollution in an hour as a car down that has been driven 100,000 miles."

How on earth does someone come up with these kind of numbers? I've owned 3 differant 250Rs and have several 2 stroke yard tools,if they left 30% of there fuel on the ground no body would have to ban them ,I would never use them. A snowmobile polluting in 1 hour as much as 100,000 miles of driving a car ??? :lmao::lmao: :yay: NO WAY :birds:

The suggestion came up to fill their e-mails full of junk e-mail... You know the 30 or so you get a day, add them to their list...their e-mail is listed on the site. I saw that and thought it was funny as heck.

I am curious to know where on earth you come up with your statistics. Not everyone has the time to canoe or x-country ski. I cant remember the last time i saw any stadium filled with spectators to watch x-country skiing.

I wonder why you dont post the price of the canoes? You know some canoes are better than 20 grand?

I like to canoe myself ... I also enjoy jet-skiing ...and i take my atv's to sand dunes regularly ... and honestly cant think of how an atv disrupts sand dunes ... as a matter of fact... those tree-hugging turds closed half of the state park i ride at because of some flower ... only to find where they closed the park ..the "endangered flower" DIED OFF..and where atv's were allowed ..it flourishes.

there is no way in hell 30% of the fuel used in equipment is left in the water or the ground. If that were really the case ... EVERYONE would have DEAD lawns ... dead crops ... dead livestock ... and would have enough sense to stop using 2-cycle engines (which btw ... it is quite difficult to find a 2cycle engine nowadays anyway).

Im with you on the pollution... the oil slicks left behind by older ... run down outboard motors .. but modern equipment does not leak oil ... nor does it leave 30% of its fuel in the water.

If you wanna make a strong case ..by all means plz do ... but after reading your website ... you sound more like a grumpy old man pulling garbage from your ass than you do factual and with good intent.

Again .. make a strong and factual case and people like me will not only respect what you have to say, but maybe even be willing to meet you somewhere in the middle on some of these issues... you can't just hate to hate ... you gotta have reason.

Lastly ... these places where people "go off" designated trails ... show me a picture of it ... better yet ..show me some video ..and then show me how exactly it has disturbed the environment .. moreso than your home on some mountain that once was inhabited by native americans or wild buffalo... or maybe the cattle that keep the native prairie grasses from growing. How about the pavement that leads to your home in the mountains where small animals / insects get squished by the rubber on your tires which were produced in some factory polluting the air far far away from your precious home.

The fact here is you have no idea where an atv has been off the beaten path unless someone has told you they have. end of story.
