I did too much at one time to know how much of a difference the race fuel made. I run nitrous and a 12:1 piston so I have to run race fuel.

VP100 (aka StreetBlaze 100)
Oxygenated with ethanol, this CARB-legal fuel is engineered for high-performance ATVs and other powersports. VP100 makes substantially more power than pump gas as well as better throttle response, a critical factor when navigating jumps, streams or around trees. Its higher octane also offers better detonation protection for extreme conditions such as slogging through mud or sand washes with the throttle pinned. When unleaded fuel is required, VP100 is a very cost-effective option in terms of performance gained for dollars spent compared to pump gas

Running race fuel is a waste of money unless your running higher compression that needs the extra octane.

Vp 100 is not really a race gas. It's a unleaded fuel that will produce more rwhp and better throttle response vs junk pump gas. This is with a 11:1 compression piston.
Sounds like smart advertising tactics to get you to spend $7 a gallon on gas.

From what I understand, the higher the octane, the more detonation resistant the gas is. So lower octane detonates easier. You want to run the lowest octane you can without pre detonating. Any higher of an octane and your just throwing money away. I don't see how the higher octane will give better throttle response and more rwhp if its not needed. I don't know, maybe you know something about gas that I don't.

its not all about the octane of the fuel that makes the difference , yes extra octane may hurt power a bit if its just too high,,,,

the quality, blend and addative of fuels makes a huge difference in power, there are VP fuels that ill make 8% more power compared to pump gas...

same goes with the oxygen content,,, o2% in SUNOCO GT PLUS is higher then some of the vp stuff but makes less power..

personally i thing the VP100 street blaze is a great selection for many builds
