Well my bike is still in the shop so i bought a ktm 525 off one of the members on this forum its a pretty sweet ride it looks like it had a hard life like it got submerged or something but the top end is brand new i feel for the second owner hopefully he didn't loose to much on it

anyway a little bit of tlc and it will be as good as new it is wicked fast i don't have an area on 80 acres i feel safe enough to open it up and get into fifth gear lol

ill try and post some pics later

Those engines are good engines as long as they are maintained. You may be able to find a manual for the 450, which is the same engine for the most part relatively cheap. Good luck with it man, and I know exactly what you mean by opening it up. The only place I'd feel safe enough would be on an old fire road lol.

I got everything with it like it was a brand new quad including the full service manual from ktm so I'm good on that part. As far as maintain. Goes I change the oil often but I know some guys change it after each ride that seems a bit much imo but I guess if it saves you a thousands by spending hundreds it would be worth it

I can't remember off the top of my head, but how much oil does that take? I know with the 450's (Honda) a lot of people change the oil after everyrace (I mean after riding really hard for 2-6 hours) but don't change the filter. They will change the filter after every other change. Not a bad looking bike either. On a plus side, you can always use a engine out of an outlaw if something goes bad with yours :)

On the outlaws i owned i always changed it every 10hrs , same motor, the biggest thing when changing the oils on this bike is to make sure you use a ratio right, beaker it everytime, to much oil and you will have clutch slippage and leaks. Make dang sure you are carefull with the two oil screens when taking them out, you can lose them in motor....These machines are very picky with oil, pasting you a link with some insight, hope you enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!

thanks man im already on ktmatvhq

I love the bike so far I did alot of trail riding with it last sunday then yesterday I entered an endrocross race mainly to see how it would act in the ruff stuff and it did better than I would have imagined I placed 1st in my heat race and third in the main and I babied it since it dont have much time on the top end this thing is insainly fast I hardly ever used second the entire race it was mostly first about half throttle

Great, glad to hear its going good!! Those ohlins shocks really absorb the rough stuff, i was nervous when I got the bike coming off a outlaw irs that the ride would suffer but to my surprise it really holds it on and could even be better if setup and sprung for your weight.........The speed of the 525rfs motors are totally insane, let me know how it does on the dunes when you can really open it up!!!!!!

Our other buddy got a KTM 450 and it isn't as cramped as it looks. I'm 6'4" 280lbs and I fit fine on it.

And it's crazy light compared to the XX.

yep its small and nimble with a angry beast inside waiting for your thumb to release it just make sure you have enough runway to let her build momentem cause she spins like a biotch with the stock 4ply's lol i found outh the hard way and endoed over a double lol

here is a clip dont laugh at me too hard lol you can also see how the short little quad made easy work of obsticles when other stock bikes just couldnt seem to make it

LMAO you need to ride that ktm like you stole it!!!!!!
On being small, they overall size is smaller, sitting next to a 400ex, the 400 is bigger, but the layout is very comfy, im 6'3 and never complained about being cramped at all....

Any damage to the bike?

I know right but I wasn't really planning on pushing it due to the time on the top end but they peaked that jump to the point it would have been easier to jump it than roll it I just cut the corner too short and couldn't catch traction in time that was actually 2 about 3/4 throttle but I was spinning almost half way there lesson learned didn't tear anything up and the bike actually never died I kicked it back over hopped on and took off before anyone could even get there to see if I was hurt not to mention the two pro guys turning the corner to make the jump I had to get out of their flightpath lol

that was my first and only attempt on that jump lol
