Looking for some helpful input or someone to point me in the right direction with adding power to my cargo trailer. I want a basic 20 amp rv hookup along with being able to run things with a generator. I need to know what I need to make this happen. All I'm trying to run is a mini fridge, some lights, 1.8gpm water pump and maybe a microwave.

It's pretty straight forward. All the equipment can be found at your local home center.

First off, you'd need a breaker panel. Since you want a microwave, I'd suggest going with 2 15 AMP circuits.

What you would do is, get an "RV" cord and run the wires from that to the "Hot", "Neutral". and "Ground" terminals in the breaker pannel. The "RV"cord should be capable of providing 30 amps.

Then run your wiring to the outlets.

Last step is to install the circuit breakers.

Plug the "RV" cord into the generator.

That does seem pretty straight forward but what if I need to run on battery power?
