I wanted to brake the chain on my 700 so that I could get it off to clean it. the manual says to look for the link that has the staked pins. but what do they mean by staked pins what do the pins look like?

I dont think the factory chain has a masterlink and im not sure what staked pins are. I assume it is the same thing as a master link.

The stock chain is a 1 piece chain. You can remove the chain out without splitting it or you can buy a split link from you're Honda dealer. Hope this makes sense !

You can break the chain at what they call a masterlink... but, it's NOT the kind of masterlink we normally think of with a clip and all. You actually have to break that link and replace it when done. Personally I would not take a chain off to clean it. I just clean and oil the chain on the quad. The only reason I'd take the chain off would be to replace it.
