Hello everybody,

Just thought I'd let you know about a cool little YouTube clip I posted today. It is a video of us (Alba) tuning Wayne's 700XX on our dynamometer in preparation for the Baja 500.

NOTE: This is a mildly built engine for the Baja 500. We had CP make us some standard compression pistons just for this race!

Hope you guys like it!

Numbers!!!

Hello everybody!

Sorry about the numbers. In our video it focuses at the last second so you can see the numbers, however Youtube cuts off the last second of the video so you can not see them. I will be sure to account for this in future clips.

This is an extremely mild build specifically for the Baja 500. It consisted of:

*Mild porting
*Our Stage 2 camshaft (out of our stage 2 kit)
*Taper bored 46mm throttle body
*Standard compression forged piston.

We did use hardened rocker arms, as well as other aftermarket "durability upgrades", though as far as power goes, what I mentioned above is it! (Aside from the HMF exhaust system)

The peak horsepower was displayed on 3 consecutive runs. They measured at 55.36, 55.44, and 55.44 hp.

The smaller (less horsepower run) was a "before" run which had everything mentioned above minus the camshaft (cam works good!!!). Keep in mind that we ported the head and bored the TB with the intention of using a camshaft! This run was also prior to us mapping the fuel module.

The final run shown was after the installation of the cam we decided upon, and after we perfected the fuel map. Tuning makes a world of a difference!

In case anybody was wondering, I do not have an accurate "bone stock" run to show and compare to. The reason for this is because by the time we had our slick dyno tires/wheels for this unit, we had already begun our development of the engine. I will be putting a stock unit on the dyno soon so I can give you guys an accurate baseline run to compare our kits & projects to. Knobby tires will cause a displayed loss of horsepower when compared to slick tires. The knobbys begin to lose traction on the drum when under a heavy load. It will usually account for up to a 5 hp loss or more!

I hope this helped!
