Last night I replace my clutch lever/perch and notice there was a micro switch which bypasses the safety of starting the engine in gear, since my new perch did not have the switch I basically loop the switch so now I can start the bike in gear but was wondering if that will damage any electrical components by being on all the time.

I don't think it will because I noticed that mine was unplugged and didn't realize it was for a while. Could have been that way for who knows how long.

If it was unplug then you were not able to start in gear? Mine would not start in gear with these wires disconnected. Doubt that it will harm anything since it's basically a safety switch but just wanted to ask and see.
