Anyone set their clutch up like the CRF450R dirt bike. We've done that for the TRX450R that we MX & it seems that the same can be done to the TRX700XX clutch as well. Just wondering!:xx:
The CRF450R bike & TRX450R quad have thew same clutch basket set up & basically the same plates/fibers except that the quad has 1 thin fiber & a couple of judder springs. We just set the TRX450R up like the dirt bike & it works better. Seems, from the parts break down, the TRX700XX can be done the same way.Don't know much about clutches what do you mean?

Hey Amigo, sound like you done just what I'm looking to do to my 700XX. They all (CRF450R/TRX450R/TRX700XX) have the same basic "main" disc so getting rid of the judder springs just make for a better clutch feel for sure. The CRF and TRX450r are differant baskets. The CRF has cushions fitted and TRX does not.
I removed the judder springs/ half plate in the xx and fitted a 450r fiber plate , 12 months ago and never had any issues. It has a better feel with this setup.
Less slippage, easier pull, immediate engage once you drop the lever. Better for the "off the line" holeshots.:xx:What do you mean as in better feel? Like easier to pull or engage quicker?
How about a photo how to? This is my first sport quad but I am not afraid of turning wrenches.
I read another thread that if my oil is too low that I could have some slippage. I will check this out too.
Remove 4,5,8 and replace with 6 on same 700xx pic.My clutch seems to be slipping when I go from 4th to 5th. Sometimes is like it won't go into 5th.
If I go with this set up. do I remove number 8 & 4 from the 700 pic and a number 5 & 6 from the 450 pic. This will be my first attempt working on a clutch. The 450 pic has two #5, two #6, and one #22 which means I will have 5 plates instead of 3 on my 700. Is this correct?
THANKS for the quik response Baxter. I will go ahead and order the part. You wait till something starts going wrong to check your oil... ?
just wondering whats the difference between part no 5 on the micro fisch and number 6?Remove 4,5,8 and replace with 6 on same 700xx pic.
His account was messed up, he said he could'nt log in so i told him i will ask, and i did check the map section, theres no downloads for the set up he has and Dynojet didnt have a download for his set up, i thought mabe with some luck someone would of been running a set up very close i could get to put him in the ballpark of not running to rich or lean.:funny:
Well I am glad we are even and It has made you feel better.
Sorry for the poke.
