Haven't tried them but will have to take a look. I actually went with a Zune over the Ipod specifically for the Zune pass. It's $15/month, unlimited songs. Yah it's subscription based so you have to keep paying to listen, but the variety is unbeatable. Problem is, I like the Ipod itself much more than the Zune...
Did some research this week on emusic and they don't have permission to play allot of popular bands i.e. nickelback or even styx so I decided not to deal with them, I'll check out Zune since IPod does play mp3 and can conver them to AAC.
Wow! Just check out Zunes and they want $15 a month but you can only download 10 songs per month to keep forever, that's expensive. If I just want to listen and not download then I go to http://www.last.fm/home which is free.
I still think Zune has the best deal going. $15 gets you ten songs to keep. So you're basically paying $5 a month to have an unlimited (almost) music collection. I download 10 or 15 new albums, listen to them and maybe keep 1 or 2, then go grab 10 more. Someday I'll stop paying and the music becomes unplayable...or does it...
Tried it one year and got some virus from their site so tried it afterwards. Nowadays I use audials one and you pay for the software then you can download as many songs as you want to for free, they even offer video and tv sites.
