Sweet find. I thought it was interesting that the honda 450r has 4 hp more than the yfz450. Obviously, hp isn't everything but an extra four hp is a decent amount of power on a quad.

And since we are here for the 700xx I'll post it.

39.5 kW or 39,500 Watts
39,500 Watts / 746 Watts per HP = 52.95 hp

Some of the things the raptor guys are saying on youtube about the 700xx is making my stomach turn. They really are clueless. If I'm doing this right, I believe the XX has the raptor beat on power to weight ratio.

700xx=9.54:1

700R=11.25:1(roughly)

Outlaw 525=8.67:1(roughly...again)

I have seen that a lot. It is not only raptor guys. I've seen it from every type of brand loyal guy. There is a lot of people that have bashed the 700xx ever since it was announced. It is a new "breed" of quad, so it is bound to have a lot of people questioning it. Many don't like the IRS because they have been driving SRA and don't understand the possibilities that IRS brings to the table. Also, there has been a lot of people that have taken the wet weight of 500+ lbs. and compared it to all the other quad's dry weight, and think that it is a tank. Yes, it is heavier than some, but not as much as it appears. Lastly, many have said that it is butt ugly. I don't have a problem with people having their own opinion with whether or not it looks good, but I'm guessing most of them have only seen pictures and the pictures don't do the quad any type of justice.

Now, the truth is that anyone that I have heard that have actually driven the quad just love it. The quad does have the body roll and is a little more difficult to slide around (until you get used to the IRS), but the benefits of IRS plus getting used to the different riding style makes the handling very good. With some anti roll or sway bar the IRS should be much better than SRA, and I know a few have already confirmed the huge improvement.

Finally, this is a trail quad. It is amazing for what it is made for. It may not fit someone's riding style as well as another quad, but I know 700xx owner's love it.

I guess after all that mumble jumble above, what I'm trying to say is that the people hating on the 700xx probably have not even seen one in real life and very likely have not ever ridden one. We know it is a great quad and I'm not going to say that either the raptor or the 700xx is better, but I chose the 700xx over the raptor and couldn't be happier.

I couldn't agree with you more, they haven't ridden the XX and are just assuming things. One guy was saying you can't even do wheelies with it. Thats funny, I was doing them today! Its not just with the XX, I read a post that said "a yfz450 will beat the Renegade 800EFI on a MX track hands down:)stupid:)." That just blows my mind, they're comparing two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT quads, not even close. I'm new to forum talks and I never realized the ignorance that exists out there.:confused: I have respect for all manufacturers but I trust Honda and I love the IRS. The outlaw was in the road ahead until the XX arrived with big cc, EFI and IRS. I previously owned a honda and had to have another, especially with all those goodies!:yay:

The 700 Raptor is the fastest in a straight line with equal riders stock for stock. I believe the main reason for this is the Raptor guys have had time to figure out the optimum shift points for maximum effeciency in a drag race were the XX guys have not. Also, by what Ive seen so far the X has maybe 1-2hp more than the Raptor on the dyno. I had a guy call me a while back that owns a dyno that had dynoed a XX and was tellin me about it since its so rare that they hit a dyno. He said that the XX did 41.xx were a stock Raptor usually does 40 or so. Thats not enough to really make a difference with the small weight difference between em. I will say by personal experience that the XX will be limited the more modifications that are done compared to the Raptor, the cylinder head will be the choke point- the Raptor cylinder head can be heavily modified and some are hitting close to 400cfm. The XX cylinder head will probably never be at that level.
