Overall my first ride and impressions where very good. I've been on mostly 4x4's (Wolverines) for years and this animal is completely different and very enjoyable. I installed and hour meter and Honda nerf bars before my first ride and I logged 3.2 hours of engine running time.

Engine Performance:
A bit intimidating at first because 1st gear sucks (13t on order) and I stalled it more than I care to admit. By the end of the ride I was starting to get to know my new steel horse and the power became more manageable.

Handling:
Much much better than my Wolverine. It does push in the turns a bit, but the hillside stability I thought was great. I do think the handle bars just don't feel right and I'm reading about Flex Bars and risers.

Body Reaction:
I'm in my mid-40's and feeling a little sore today mostly because I think I was a little tense on the new steel horse. I'm hoping new handlebars help my shoulders after long rides?

Conculsion:
I’ve been using my quads in the past for double duty (work and play) and now I’m lucky enough because of the great pricing on the 700xx to be able to have just a play quad and this one was the right choice for me. A terrific steel horse named Lucy.

I'm glad your first ride was a lot of fun. The 13 t makes a huge difference and for the stalling I did it too but its better than wearing out the clutch by babying it all the way through.

Very interested. Where abouts in the Lake Cumberland area? I visit fishing creek boating a couple times a year.

Also enjoy Black Mountain.

Thanks!
Hey, I just bought mine today and am looking for places to ride and people to ride with. Please PM me if you guys go on rides and can stand another person in the crew.

The ride on Aug. 21st will be in southern Wayne County in the Slickford area and cross over into Pickett State Park in Tennessee.

We did this ride last year with the Ridge Runners from Black Mountain in Harlan. They came over here to get a little change in scenery. My little riding group is hopefully headed over there in May to ride with a few of the RR's that we helped with their ride over here. Apparently, we've really been missing out because we've always stayed on the park and haven't taken any off the park rides. I'll post a thread when we get more concrete plans nailed down.

Here are two threads from the RR's site about the ride down here from last year. The Aug. 21st ride will be a similiar route but with fewer vehicles. There are some good pics scattered throughout these threads.

This is the planning thread:

This is a link to a video that a guy took of me messing around climbing a rock. I start at about 44 seconds in:
