Well my top speed today with mods in my signature, on the 13t sprocket across the BUMPY sand was 69.4mph judging by my Garmin. I was hoping to break 70 and i'm pretty sure I can, just didn't happen toady.

Scuzz (Gary) got 66.6mph on his completely stock bike.

How'd the tune do this time? It idle better?
BTW, according to Alabama State Trooper radar my stock 700 did 76.4mph back in 2006 on pavement. Dont ask how I know this......
Yeah on payvement I would think that we would get close to that. We were on some really loose sand which eats a ton of power. Also, did I mention I weigh 260 pounds?

I'm not, fat...I'm just big-boned.

Ahahahahaha!

Thats why I put in my post that it was on pavement. Kinda figured you guys was on dirt or sand.

Did you get the handlebar mount?
I have the Garmin GPS60CSx and would love to know how it holds up mounted to the bars.
I think this was a regular old car one that we put in a backpack.

i got a magellin and i had to hold it in my left hand and i was going down a gravel road and got 73mph, and the bike still didn't seem like it was topped out engine still felt like it had some more to go.

Yeah it was a Garmin Nuvi 260
On one of my runs I hit one of my doughnut ruts and it nearly yanked the bars out of my hand and made the quad go left while my body continued to go straight. I was able to stay on top of it but it scared the ever lovin' crap out of me.

thats fun at 60mph huh?

Where's Trailin' Me for the Precision steering dampner plug?! haha i'd really like one of those though. The video of hitting it with a hammer is pretty sweet.

One of my wrist is still hurt from months ago on my first XX ride. I was only in 2nd gear but jammed the hellouttait.
So everyone seems to finally be running with a gps. Well back in May of 08 when I picked up my stock 700xx I have ran with a gps all the time and the first run on breakin day I got 72 out of mine on gravel. The next time on gravel I let her wind out a bit more and got 78. Now as I said that is "stock".
I'm still on a 13t sprocket (1 down from stock) so i'll be anxious to get on pavement with the 14t and see what she does.

this is exactly why you drop 400 on a steering stabilizer.
I have the Precision as well, it's hard to say just how much it helps..........Until you take it back off.

It's amazing how much safer it feels at speed. I clipped a tree once and I'm sure it saved my life.

With the big 3 and a 15T you would think 90MPH is acheivable.............fark thats fast.

I really don't want to go that fast on my quad. I think the top speed of it right now (around 70-75mph) is PLENTY fast enough.

Meh, I maybe do that once or twice a year. I'm more of a trail and sand rider who spends moth of their time in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear.

that once a year ... the one time it shatters your wrist or throws you off your bike... the helicopter ride alone out of the park will pay for a zillion steering dampeners.

i can fly wide ass open across any rut ... bury a front tire in the rut ... all while taking a drink out of my camelback ... maybe even be steering with one hand... and not really even realize i hit the rut... hell ..can rail a tree ...bump steer off a tree..a rock... whatever ..mud

the point is ... if you are after speed ... the dampener is the single most important piece you can add to a quad... no 10000 dollar motor ..no 300 wheels... not even a 6000 dollar suspension system can give you the added benefit of a good stabilizer...it really is the best benefit per dollar spent...and only enhances the rest of any power or suspension mod you can buy.

i will never high speed a quad again without one... simply put ... the difference is on rails or derailing.

Read my post at the top of the page, It was pretty serious. I will definately be looking into getting one when its back together.
