I've been reading for a looong time about the handle bars, s/v clamp
but I'm still having a hard time deciding what to do with the handle bars.
I got the CCP steering damper ordered and what I'm not sure of is if I
should bite the bullet and order the Precision S/V clamp or try the
Trailtech clamp with the 1 1/8" bars. I'm trying to save a little cash here
but on the other hand I do have a $40 gift card to Rocky Mountain
to ease the pain of the S/V clamp.

My other issue is I want to replace the handle bars no matter what but I
have no idea what to go with especially when it comes to width, height
and pull back. Do I get low or medium rise bars? How should I determine that?

I'm actually leaning toward the Trailtech clamp and bars but I have a strong
feeling everyone is just going to say go with Precision S/V.

Will I need longer brake lines or cables or will they be long enough
once I remove the facotry guide brackets?

Thanks guys!

hard to say what bars you should get, its all just what you prefer, i really like the protaper windham bend. right now i have stock bars with a 1.6 in riser and that is as tall as you can go with stock brake line and clutch cable, motion pro makes a +2 cable and streamline has a very nice front brake line +2 kit, which i have both of them and a 3in riser to try soon.

So after reading post going back to 2010 and my eyes going completely cross-eyed I kinda came up with a list of handle bars. One of the things I read which seems to be one of my problems is that I'm leaning forward on the bars and putting extra pressure on my hands. So I want to try and find a little taller bar with maybe a little more pull back, I think. I came up with this list of my choices.

It didn't seem to help one single freakin bit after all that research! :disgust::confused::crazy:

Pro Taper EVO's
cr high bend - 31.50 wide X 3.74 high X 2.45 pull back
Windham/RM Mid - 31.50 wide x 3.90 high x 2.13 pull back
Woods high bend - 31.50 wide x 3.74 high x 2.56 pull back

Pro Taper Coutour
atv mid bend 31.50 wide x 4.25 high x 2.21 pull back
atv low bend 31.50 wide x 3.74 high x 2.37 pull back
cr high bend 31.50 wide x 3.74 high x 2.37 pull back
cr med bend 31.50 wide x 3.23 high x 2.24 pull back
Windham MX 31.50 wide x 3.90 high x 2.13 pull back

Trail Tech
ATV high bend 31.10 wide x 4.21 high x 2.44 pull back
ATV mid bend 31.10 wide x 3.74 high x 2.44 pull back
ATV low bend 31.10 wide x 3.27 high x 2.44 pull back

Renthal Twinwall
Cr high - 31.29 wide x 3.74 high x 2.44 pull back

I have pro taper evo bars on my XX, and there isn't enough room for all of my controls. I have to take of my powermadd hand guards to make sure everything that needed to be there is, and it's still too cluttered.

Not what I wanted to hear since I need hand guards and a gps mount also on there.

i went with rox 2'' anti vib risers and flexx high bars... i was able to stay with stock break lines and throttle cable
when i got mine it had pro taper SE atv high bars on them, i still have them on, at first i bought a 1.6in riser that i think power madd makes and that was as tall as i could go with stock cables, maybe the protape high bend bars are taller than stock idk

I am in the same boat as you and just posted a new thread before I saw yours. The whole handlebar thing can be quite confusing. I would like to know what setups will allow us to keep the same cables?

I sent a message to TrailTech last night inquiring about black bars and here is their response:

" We don't have any left. Just silver, red, and blue. We will not be making anymore either. They are discontinued, so what is left is all we will have.
I'm not sure if any distributors still have some or not. You can check with Tucker Rocky and Rocky Mtn ATV

you should really look at the fasst flexx bars... i wouldnt even think of anything else... once you ride with them the 1st 5mins you will say the same
What hand guards can you mount on the Flexx bars and can you use ODI grips?

What is the fit like with all the controls? Any room left for a GPS mount and hand guards?

Would you be able to maybe message or post some pics of your FLexx bars?

Also, would anyone mind giving some input on running the Shock and Vibe clamp with stock bars?

cycra makes handguard mounts specific for flex bars.

I went with the trail tech clamp and Pro Taper contour ATV mid bend and I have to say I am really happy with this setup. Let me know if you have any questions.

Just to be clear, you're talking about a stock stem, right? On my Teixeira Tech stem, with the S/V clamps, the setup is taller than stock. The stock bars are pretty high, and I had planned on replacing the stockers with the ProTaper Raptor Bend (about the same pullback and height as stock). I didn't have enough cable length for it. With the anti-vibe stem and the S/V, the tallest I could go on the bar with the stock cables was a mid bend, like grafixghost has. In fact, with that bar, I couldn't pull the bar back as far as I wanted, I had to leave them leaned forward a bit. Just now, I bit the bullet and ordered extended cables from Motion Pro and brake lines from Streamline. Then, I can have my Raptor-Bend bars mounted to the anti-vibe stem and S/V clamps. All told, this will be ABOUT 2-1/2" higher than stock, I think.
