:yay:Just got back from Hatfield, wheew what a trip. Had 6 riders ride 4 trailheads over 4 days.
Started driving down thurs morning at 300am, stopped at Little Coal at 1230pm for a little Hatfield intro for some of our group. One guy flipped his quad off a trail there and became "missing" for a frantic 20 minutes or so as he was the caboose of our group and he didn`t show up at the next stop. Finally found him after he left his helmet on the trail while he tried to get un stuck from a ravine. Was very hot and humid there.
Day 2 hit up Rockhouse from Man to Gilbert. Left later in the AM about 1100, there are some trail closures there so check the chalk board at the trailhead. Rode mostly blue and green trails into Gilbert then it started pouring, keeping the dust down but making for some MUDDY/FUN trails. Had one fellow overestimate his speed into a turn and flipped off the trail luckily some sapplings and trees blocked both his and his quads fall down a ridge. We ate at Wallys what an awesome place food was great and they dont mind the mess from the trails. Ride back was noneventful except for rushing to return before it got dark.
Day 3 we hit up Pinnacle Creek map says 30 miles away but it doesn`t say those miles will take 1 hour and 20 minutes so we got there later than we wanted to but got there safe. Great riding there, not dusty due to day before rain, we all really liked this trailhead some steep trails, some fast trails, some wet trails, and some tight trails something for everybody. Seems like this place will only get better as they will connect this trailhead with IndianRidge later this month. The only thing that sucked here was that the Community connector was closed so you could not ride into the other town, you could go back to the trailhead and ride into town from there. We ate at a drive inn diner and the food was good, not like Wallys but it was good.
Day 4 we hit up Bearwallow minus 2 riders as they departed early. Started out on blue and green trails made one big loop then the skyy OPENED UP pouring cats and dogs for like 2 hours. we got soaked but didn`t waiver and continued to ride. Rode the long outer loop then back tracked through some other trails went down into Logan at the Community connector, BTW this was the first time I rode into Logan legally as the connector was not open when I was there before, we ate at the Steak Escape at the Exxon station in town. Food was good but the people were real difficult to understand. Real difficult knowing where you could and could not ride in town so we just stayed close to the trail connector. IF YOU GO INTO TOWN HERE, REMEMBER THE ROADS YOU RODE OUT AS IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO FIND AGAIN IF YOU DON`T PAY ATTENTION. The ride on the trails back was noneventful, just be careful as they recently cut all saplings along trail 14-15 and they are laying on the trail if your tire hits it just right it can come back and spear your leg or bike. Awesome trip with a great group.
