Have some questions about the XX

4198 Views 19 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  trailin'me
Hey guys I'm new here (nice site by the way!) and a potential XX buyer. I just was wondering if you could help me with some questions about the XX before I go ahead and make the purchase.

I'd like to hear from as many people as possible to see all the different opinions.

1) What do you absolutely love about your XX?

2) What do you dislike about it?

3) What do you feel should be improved on it?

4) What was your OTD price, and which state did you buy it?

If you guys could help me out with these questions you'd really be helping a fellow rider out and it would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

1.Ground clearance, mid-range and top end power, comfortable ride, very nimble considering its' weight, fit and finish, EFI!!, Honda reliability.

2. My only real issue with it is that 3rd gear seems a little too tall, so the gearing is off a bit there, especially in trail riding conditions. The black plastic gets trashed VERY fast too, but that would be the case with ANY black quad.

3. Gearing #1 (at least in third). For the price it sells for, it should have fully adjustable shocks on all four corners.

4. I bought mine when they first hit the floor, so I paid full retail PLUS setup, so I did not get a good deal at all. I didn't care though, I had been waiting on it for months. I live in Washington state.

The XX is an awesome quad...ESPECIALLY if you are a trail rider. If you are a sand guy, I'd say look elsewhere.

1) What do you absolutely love about your XX? IRS is easy on your back during long trail rides, gives great ground clearance and assures great traction. Strong potent motor with a ton of potential. Awesome badass looks, Honda quality.

2) What do you dislike about it? Ditto on the 3rd gear, but you learn to live with it. Wish it could be 20lbs lighter. More practical front bumper.

3) What do you feel should be improved on it? See question 2 answer.

4) What was your OTD price, and which state did you buy it? Full retail in Ohio.
1 Love everything about it.

2 Nothing at all.

3 Price drop of about $500.

4 $7900 MD

This machine absolutely rocks. We have 2 and our other bikes are a KFX700 and a Renegade 800x that sit in the garage now. It is so smooth and fun to ride. I just did a 700k trip in the mountains and it was flawless. I'm in Canada and paid $11000.00 each OTD.

I couldn't have said it better.

Those were in Quebec. Beautiful trail system up here. Especially the winter. Can't wait to see how the XX will handle it.

I think your CanAm would be the nats ass for winter riding.

I agree. The Gade is hard to beat for an all around machine. You should see 70 mph drifts in 4x4 on the fire roads.lol
I stud up my tires on the V and hit the trails in WI...Nothing like a good power/powder slide...
powersliding with a ute. that must be as much fun as pulling a trailer with a sport quad! :p
How would you know PSW, you don't even own a quad...sport or utility.
Just picked up my 08 700xx today, Can't complain about anything yet and pad 7100 OTD

More, More, More.....Great Pics, Chris

Oh, and you guys really don't want to Know what I paid for mine ;)
you made a good choice. believe me y'all ..when these razrs are finally released for everyone ... the performance is unbelievable ... really makes you wonder WTF honda was thinking putting those poopy duncrap tires on it.

i STRONGLY suggest going out to pick up a steering dampener .... precision racing makes one ...tis very simple to use .... just need to have aftermarket steel brake lines installed ... and turn around the rectifier ...

i promise ... I PROMISE ... they are worth their weight in gold ... no more jammed wrists ... or flying off your quad from some gut pounding root or rut ..or rock hitting the side of your tire.
