I am interested in getting a 12:5 to 1 high compression piston and a stage 3 hot cam installed on my 700!! Just looking for feedback or thoughts (good or bad) before i pull the trigger. Example: Gas, other motor work or other parts I would need to install. From looking at all the posts I think I'm in the right spot to get good advice. Thanks!!!!!!!!

the 12.5:1 piston wont get u much extra unless u do a lot of other mods. just going to make u have to run race fuel. go with an 11:1 piston unless u have plans to do some port work and better cam, springs, rockers in the near future to get the full potential of the piston.

What mods do you have right now? I was told with 12 5 1 you can get away with 100 octane but they recommended 110. I'm at 12 1 and I run VP C12 with my build. Like Britalican said it just depends on what you want out of it and how much you are willing to spend on fuel. I heard the HC3 works pretty good for the price with stock heads but Web cams work a lot better in ported heads, I would get a +3 throttle body with the cam and piston.

My current mods are are only fmf exhaust and programmer and K&N air filter. Not really worried about how much i spend on gas. Just looking to get a little more power overall but I dont want to pour 2000 dollars or more into. I was told i could get the HC piston and a cam for for about 350 and get it installed for about 250. havent priced the springs or rockers. looking to keep the price parts and labor under 1000. Yes I am from rockingham, nc

all depends on cam profile, head design, true compression ratio, etc.
