Another thing that you can after washing the bike, spray some Lemon Pledge then wipe it off, this will reduce the amount of mud that collects on your plastic and it does make it shiny

Same as hondarider203, preasurewash, simple green, armorall. Bike looks great and the mud doesn't seem to stick as much.

I'm not much for keeping my bike spotless, I'll usually pressure wash and spray the chain and other needed components with lubricant.

I try to stay away from a pressure washer because under high pressure, water can get past your seals if you hit them right with the pressure washer. I just use a car wash attachment on my hose... you know the kind that you soap and rinse with. I spray down and break the mud loose and then use Simple Green, rinse, dry and then run the motor a bit and go up and down the block just to put heat in the brakes. Wipe any water off that running down the block has shaken loose, then just Armoral and re-lube the chain if needed. Then I re-fill my gas. If you leave your tank half full for long periods, the air in there does contain moisture and that moisture can condense out into your fuel over time. Leave your tank half full ride after ride and the amount of water can build up more and more. Water in fuel = not good. Tank full = no air, no air = no moisture.

i meant maxima, its the SC1 clearcoat...i couldnt think of what the can said on it, i just know the saying on the can saya"new bike in a can" one of my friends told me to try it, it beads the mud and water and fills the scratches so they are not as noticeable. after my bike is washed and looks dull, this stuff makes it shine like new plastics.

Pressure washer for the deep mud, then just clean everything else w/ a mit. To keep stuff off when I race (mud scrambles) I either use PAM or WD-40 on everything before hand (besides the seat and grips). This causes the mud to slip off when washing pretty easily. The other thing is to try to wash it when you're done riding, before everything dries up.

ditto what everyone else is reccomending. One thing i can add --- After the quad is clean, i spray Black Majic "tire foam" all over the quad. It sprays out in a really fine mist and covers the bike well. Once you got it covered really well just let it sit for about 10 mins, after that wipe down the plastics. I used to cover my bike in WD-40, tire foam seems to be a little bit thicker and the mud washes off really easy after the next ride.
