Well guys, after a while of tossing it around, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the EHS big three package. First, I would like to say thanks to Eric at EHS racing for great service and extremely fast shipping. (I ordered it on a Friday, got the exhaust on the following Tuesday and the other stuff on Wednesday). Next, what a difference! Its like a whole new machine. It pulls so much harder through all the gears its scary. Definitely money well spent! According to my Trail Tech Vapor, I hit just over 80mph after the install, before I was topped out at 78.4. Also, today I installed ODI Extreme lock on grips, they look awesome and were a breeze to install. I have one issue with the Barkers exhaust tho, as i have read on here, it rubs on my clutch case slightly. And i mean slightly, but only when its warm, although I did manage to get a .005 inch feeler gauge between the pipe and the case while warm. Is that enough space? I talked to Eric and did as he recommended and slid the can out towards the back but it didnt change it much if any. Any tips? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance!

call mike scramski at barkers i had same issue and he gave me the resolution, its aggravating>

My Barker pipe rubs too! I'm afraid it's gonna rub a hole.
dude i let mine rub for a long time it probaly went about 3/16 before i did any thing about it,thoght mine was gonna rub hole i sent pics to scramski he knows the prob and he said they straightened them out but apparently not>

Thanks for the replies guys. Ill have to give him a call this week maybe. It will have to work for the weekend tho cuz im going riding in west virginia for the holiday!

After 2 gen 1 and 1 gen 2 head pipes, mine still barely rubs when good and warm. Tried everything, just won't stay clear. Finally just put up with it.

Yea, im thinking thats what ill end up doing. Like i said i can get a feeler gauge between it so its not like its jammed on there

OK I struggled with this for days before I rigged it up :)

My process involved....

1. Gettign the head pipe loosely fitted on.
2. Next I slid 2 pieces of thick cardboard netween the two places the pipe was really close/rubbing on my case.
3. I put the clamp on the Exhaust can at an extreme angle. The outside part of the clamp was closer towards the front of the bike. Loosely tightened.
4. Finished tightening the Head pipe.
5. Tighted the clamp. Because of the angle of the clamp as I tightened it it actually pulled the pipe back and raised it off of the case.

Seemed to work for me. The cardboard was basically just to hold the head pipe where I wanted it because I was doing it myself and it kept moving on me.

EDIT: I put it on at this angle because Eric told me how far the clamp was actually supposed to be back the can and it would just not line up that far. So by angling it on there then tightening it to pull it back it worked.

Thanks for the tips. Wish i would of saw this a day ago. Haha. I called Barkers today. Very helpful guys there. I sent them pics and they couldnt figure out why it was happening. I let them know I was going riding in WV this weekend, they instructed me to put the pipe in a vice and pinch a steel rod (like a screw driver shaft) on top of the area that rubbed and tighten it to form a small dent/crease for more clearance. They said it would not hurt performance. They also said when I get back from WV, they would send me a new head pipe if I was not happy with the quick fix. So thats what I did. It doesnt appear to rub bad on top of the clutch case, but it seems to barely rub on the back.

how much did you slide it towards the back? i had a measurement on one of the post on here of what it should be approx. You can mount it and move it quite a bit like a 1" it more than you think i've had a couple here i installed that if you just put it on it will be close but moving them in the clamp has always fixed it. I guess its possible to have one that got messed up but for the most part since the initail issue which was probably a year ago they have been all ok for the most part.

I put a longer bolt in my silencer and used some washers to space it out. That allowed me to get a little more clearance. Just something to try.

the edge of the clamp (back side) should be roughly 7"-7-1/16" from the end of can with tip thats the flat part like you would hook a tape measure over to the edge of clamp.

well guys, after my great riding weekend in WV (put 175 miles on the XX), i got a chance today to call up Barkers again today. To try and resolve my problems with the exhaust, they are sending me a brand new head pipe. So hopefully that solves the issue. I would just like to say that they have EXCELLENT customer service. I would by from them again in a heartbeat, along with Eric at EHS. Thanks Guys!
