I am through about 3-4 tanks for gas now for the new 700 and am teedering between taking it to the dealership or not for the maintain overhaul.

I heard that the dealership changes the fluids, adjusts valves, and does a look-over. Is it worth it? My dealership quoted me $120. Says it garentees the 1 yr warranty if I bring it in.

Any thoughts/opinions? $120 is steep IMO.

Sounds like an oil change and a valve adjustment. What do you guys think?

Weren't we just talking about honda NOT standing by thier warrantee despite what anyone has done ???

So wait, does honda VOID the warrantee if you dont take it those overpriced pocket polo wearing knuckleheads to service it ???

Either way, I did my own valves, including the oil change and wiping all the stuff down while it was apart like the undeneath of the fuel tank, etc, you're looking at a half hour for someone experienced maybe longer if you're not...i'm kinda glad honda did the sohc on these, just for maintenance ease, screw that shim under bucket crapola !!!

No. A self service does not void the warranty. Not that it is really a warranty in the first place. Just a promise to screw you over when you are down

I would take it in. That isn't too bad of a price. Figure about an hour to hour and a half total really. Plus oil filter and change, so that sounds about right.
