Hey everybody! I've been a member for a little over a month. I am in a small town outside of Memphis tn and I'm looking for some new places to ride and people to ride with. I'm fairly new to quads I've had a 4x4 but nothing sporty. I still ride pretty hard having a bmx/sport bike back ground. Anyways love the site a lot of good info and seems like the mods aren't assholes like most forums( :birds: )which is awesome.

Welcome to the site. I also grew up on the BMX track and think that helped me out in the sport quad catagory. Memphis is not that far away from me so when ever you want to come up to ride, just let me know and you will have a place to stay.

Cool another BMX'er!! I raced NBL for years. I was actually number one in the nation for my first year....... I was 6 though lol. My dad was one of the original racers so it was in my blood. I think he liked it more than me. I went to the grands in Louisville KY every year till I quit though. Never got my title back haha. But I def think it gives me the balls to hit jumps without thinking.

Yea I actually grew up in atoka right by there. We went once this summer but it's gotten kinda lame. A couple of years ago he had twice the land but he got shut down for not pay taxes or some bs and they let everything grow over. If you ever went out there before it sucks going back now. He use to have a track, mud pit, drag strip just about everything

Yeah i have been there before they closed it down a few years back. It has changed alot. They pretty much let the trails go. I remember the track area used to be filled with people. On the plus side i can play around on half of the track thats still usable and usually have the whole place to myself it seems like. Where do you ride now? Sugar creek is the only place i know of besides the wolf river bottoms. I go out there every once in a while but im more of a trail rider than mudder.

I live in Oakland now so couple of my friends and i just put around the house most of the time. There are cotton fields for miles but that gets old quick. The only thing I do is practice wheelies when we are in fields. I don't know where else to ride I've heard of people talk about some bottoms in the millington/Frazier are but that's mudding stuff like covington pike. Can you still get the tack topside at SC? Everywhere we went there was fences and rebar stuck in the ground. Next time you make a trip out there I'll see if my friends want to make a trip but they weren't very impressed last time we went. I talked it up like it was big shit to find out they closed most of it lol

O and thanks for the welcomes!!! Dagirl, where do these good people ride? I'm dieing for a good ride

Welcome to the forum. You might want to check out the site at the link below for different riding areas near you. The link below is for Tenn. but if you click "home" on the page and then on a state, you will go a page for riding areas in that state. Find an area that interests you and click on "view details". Tenn. is kinda central to other states that may offer more or better riding areas. Explore the site, find an area and have fun riding.

Yeah all of the areas in the bottoms is pretty much just mudding. There are 2 routes that i know of to get to the track at sugar creek. The area you are talking about is roped off because they sold that track of land. Its not too hard to get up there. Just a few hillclimbs through the woods. Speaking of trails, have you ever noticed people riding dirtbikes/atvs right off of I240 and getwell? I decided to pull in there today while i was out and it looked pretty cool. Its pretty much a track with some small doubles and tabletop jumps.

Btw. Did you get your xx around august/september at yamaha honda memphis? The reason i ask is because someone bought a black one the same day i got mine haha.

Yup that's where I got it, but I'm not the one who got it the same day. I picked mine up the next week. The salesman was telling me about you two I think. Did y'all both want the black one? If so y'all got the last 08's and I had to get the black 09 with the gay tribal for a grand more lol. But I like my black rims and cases so it's ok. I'm actually going by the dealership tomorrow for oil change parts. Did you have them do your first service? I'm not willing to pay what there asking.
I've never noticed it but I don't really get down that way unless I have too. If it's any good let me know.

Yeah we were both wanting the black one but he wanted it 5 min before me haha. I havent done my first service but need to. Im with you on not willing to pay them for it. I think they want $250! Thats just to check the valves and change the oil. Theres a tech article somwhere in the forums on how to check the valves.
