Took my 01 Scrambler in for service, and it was stolen. Dealer says oh well your screwed unless you had insurance. They didn't even file a report and told me like 8 units were stole and several thousands in parts! Well it's all BS only thing gone was my quad, they didn't even call and tell me. Any way keep a look out if your around OH, Ky, WV. area or else where. Cant be to many with those rear tires on it. Kenda bear claws ex

I have a thread stater in a local forum here if you care to read, thanks.

I agree, plus I'd never use that shop or spend a single penny at that dealership ever again.

Something is fishy, and amazingly unprofessional, if they weren't willing to file a police report, or contact you to even let you know it was stolen.

Well as you know lawyer's are not cheap! So I think I am just going to go talk to city prosecutor today. So far I reached out to all public media, with no response. The Attorney General has yet to respond. The BBB did respond, although surprisingly enough his shop is not a BBB member. At least it will grade him as a F for the next person that looks them up there.

Problem is, I am sure the shop has it posted somewhere that they are not liable for loss, theft, or damage, Most of the shops I know of do that. I have heard this multiple times on the web where a quad/bike is stolen from a dealer and the dealer is not liable. Same thing for your car, if you take your car to a dealer for work and it gets stolen, then your insurance has to cover it. (Had this happen to someone I know.)

It is kind of concerning though that they don't want to file a police report. I would for sure file a report myself just so the police are aware, then discuss the dealer with the police while you are there. Hope you get it back.

Yes Doug they have a disclaimer, but at the bottom of it it says beyond there control. And it certainly isn't beyond there control to remove my damn key before leaving it on there fenced in lot, they say has been broken into many times in the past. I and many other's agree with 700xxchris, it's the dealers responsibility to safe guard your product. And if he was broken into, wouldn't there be a police report with crime scene photos of where they gained entry? Only thing this guy has to show is, no quad!

Thanks all for looking out for the unit, but most say it's probably slim to none I will get it back.
