built this tonight, pretty easy to do.. used pre-filter material (ordered 18"x18" sheet from outerwears, way too large of a sheet), aluminum from an old air cleaner housing from my chevy. duct tape the edges of pre-filter so it will not fray and acts as a gasket. cut and fitted a piece from the plastic that was cut out of center to block the old intake hole. epoxy it in.

18"x18" sheet from outerwears was $18.. but that way way way too much material. I used nuts/bolts, washers, epoxy, n tape. I had in shop. so $18 total cost. will be cheaper if you get the smaller sheet.

I can't believe there charging that much for the material. I wouldn't give them my business. Nice work though...

material

yea I thought the outerwears material was really over priced too, however it was cheaper than buying an already built Pre-filter to cut apart (I assumed) and cheaper than buying EHS lid. but with 18"x18" I could make 6 lids with that much. so I'll have enough to make my buddies lids and replace mine if it gets damaged.
