just got my XX the week before Christmas and decided to take it to the dunes to see how it does. didn't have paddles so most of the other bikes killed me on the drag strip but non of them could hang with me across the washboard or any other turns or bumps of any kind. this a good machine in the sand.

They'd be even cooler if you were wearing a DAMN HELMET!!
When did you go?

Check out my video at the same place where we made a climb in the back.

i just bought one yesturday, your not the first to give me shit about that. i'll have it next time.
I think I'm the only one not to go there yet, Have to set up a ride some time so we all can go.

Sorry man, but all it takes is a split second and it's game over. A guy I know was killed this summer riding without a helmet. He was just putting down a trail, lost control and the quad flipped over on top of him and crushed his skull. He wasn't like a close freind or anything, but still, it was a shame, and a helmet probably would have saved him.

I have seen people out on the trails without them and it just seems crazy to me.

At least you were out in the sand!
Yeah, that sand is very forgiving, and 90% of the time I ride with one, but honestly most of the time out there I'm climbing soft sand and seldom make it out of third.

Also, did you check out the part of that place called "area 4"? It's near the cement plant and has some really cool places to climb.

even though i was in sand i could have hit or got hit by another bike that i didn't see and the could be bad, but now im ridding safe.

yeah we need to head up to the dunes in forest hill one day, i can't wait to see your bike in action when you get it back together.

i probly rode over every bit of that place not sure where the cement plant was but im guessing its where most of the rocks and hard terrain area is, and yes i been back there it was pretty cool back there.

It's back my the "wall" where everyone tempts fate by riding on it and slipping into the pond.

You'll pass the landfill.

This place isnt but 3.5hrs away from me....Hmmmmm
It's really a lot of fun. During the warmer months my buddies skim all the ponds there.

Here's my riding buddy doing it on his big-bored 700r:

(well 99%)

Here's another buddy of mine, Mike on his 450r:

..and another buddy, Nat on his KTM525XC:

I've mentioned this before on other threads but Jeff, the guy who runs everything is super nice.

I have paddles too!
Can you only skim like that on paddles?

Here he is launching on our trip to little sahara in Oklahoma (the KTM is in the nbackground):

Pretty much. Others have done it on stock tires but ultimately failed.

I tried it with angle paddles (and incorrect offset wheels) in the shallows of a creek on my 700xx and ended up putting it on it's side. :(

So hes runnin single exhaust? Hes loosin alot of power on that Raptor....up to 17rwhp in the overrevs.
Man thats alot of power from an exhaust change, What kinda RWHP they put out?

Yeah, he's got the Yosh exhaust. What would you recommend for him?

He's having electrical problems with it now but would love for it to haul ass like the KTM.
