After procrascinating since September 08, I finally joined. I have had my 700xx since aug 08, and love it. I am from Upstate NY and just finally got out of the military and am living in CT with a new job, so I am looking for new places to ride. IDK if you guys have been on Thumpertalk.com but they have quite a few places to ride.
I will have to get some pics up of the machine real soon. I have been debating on new suspension, but may wait because I want to get back into MX, which we all know the 700 wasn't built for. Currently I am doing a winter series mud and snow hare scrambles, which it is a beast on. I just wish it would turn a little better on the hair pins, but I suppose that is why I have over 600 studs in the front RAZR II's alone, haha.
I'm glad I have finally become a member. I hope everyone has a wonderful new Years and doesn't do anything dumb, like wheelie contests from one bar to another :yay:.

Welcome to the site Chuck! As a veteran myself, Thank you for your service! and welcome home! Remember if it doesn't work out in CT, upstate NY still needs your tax dollars, j/k. Where in NY are you from? I'm riding mostly private property here or going to Vermont to ride. Enjoy the site.

Im originally from the Binghamton area. I ride mostly around there, we have some trails that go from the house all the way to PA, going down I-88 to windsor and down. I have been up to Boonesville a few times riding roads (which is what we mostly do at home to go bar hopping). I see VFM that you are close to saratoga. I was stationg there for a while, and found some trails that went from Ballston Spa all the way to Lake George. It wasn't bad until track season up there and then the cops were on every corner. VT has some good riding as well. I just moved to CT from NH, where I lived on a private lake near Rochester, and there was tons of riding around there (all illegal unfortunately). They are doing a winter series by me if you'd be interested. There are only a few races left but it is in Belden Hill, NY. (I think it is square deal riders that put it on). $25 to ride legally and race against a bunch of kids w/ their straight axles and you can laugh watching them get stuck.

Interesting! Where in Toga are the trails you rode on? The races sound like fun, but when I search for Belden Hill it shows up in Speculator. Since you said this was near you I figured that wasn't right.
I'm thinking about going to the Winter Carnival in Lake George but need to get some info first.

It is pretty close to binghamton. If you go down I-88, you'd get off at the Harpursville exit I am pretty sure. http://squaredealriders.com/ That is the wesbiste to the club and on the first page it has the address and contact info. You have to be AMA registered which if you aren't you can do it there. I think it is 39 for a year, and mine works like triple AAA, (except for the discounts). The pricing for the races is on there as well, usually $25, for a 30 minute race, but its nice to get out and see what quads will do compared to the others.
