I'm not positive but I THINK it's a M12 x 1.75.

Why do you need to know?

Next time I change my oil (probably a month or so as I just changed it) I can get you the exact measurement if someone else hasn't gotten it by then and you still need it.

Thinking of the Fumoto valve or the Fram Sur-drain?

Someguy,
I looked at both those drain valves. They are both built with quality in mind. I do have two concerns.
1- After draining the oil reservoir you still have to drain the bottom of the engine.
2- If not positioned in a protected area, a stick or other debris could activate the ball valve handle.
Just a thought.

Actually was Looking Into Aeroquip for the Drain. It has a cap that goes on to Protect it, this is just an Idea as I cant actually see my XX.. I will be stateside in about a month and am looking at doing full service as well as install of my UHMW Skids. Figured look into this prior to Skid install while Oil is Drained.

Thank you I would appreciate it, I have found all the parts I would need for the M12x1.75 I will hold off any ordering until I hear for sure from someone. I will be Going with Aeroquip as it does come with an Aluminum Cap to Protect the connection.

How much do these valves protrude? On my previous raptor I installed the Sur-drain, it has a brass cap to protect the valve and protrudes about 3/4" so it was well protected by my aluminum belly skid.

Oh, also on the Fumoto you can get a security clip to make sure the drain handle cannot be tripped. Also these do not protrude into the engine much so practically all of the oil will be drained.

From the Drawing I can see it protrudes about .6" so the cap should be pretty well protected. Although being an Aviation Mechanic I am going to try and find a way to safty the cap on, I am not doing this for speed of Oil change so removing and adding a safety is no biggy.

Ok after a day of searching I have found on Bike bandit, Foreman Forum as well as a 450r Forum (Bike bandit to Verify Part match with the 700XX) that the Size of the Drain Bolt is M12x1.5... If anyone is doing an Oil Change soon could someone please Verify this?? Otherwise I am going with the 1.5

I really didn't check my drain bolt, the only time I changed my oil. I Was wondering if they are magnetic like most? And if so have you thought about this?

I don't believe they're magnetic. I've never seen that Aeroquip valve, nice find there, someguy. Do you think you can use this on the engine block, too? The reason I ask is that there's a frame rail or something kind of in the way when you're pulling that plug, I'm not sure a guy could get that big female end in there. Plus, it would leave a little more oil in the block than the stock plug, because the effective ID of the drain hole would be smaller and the plug goes in horizontally.

Yeah I havent been able to get to see it.. Been overseas since April... I have about a month left overseas then I can get my hands back on my quad, If this actually works out I will have follow up Pictures as well as Part numbers that can be ordered. Price on Aeroquip is a little higher cost then the other options but I as far as I know noone is running anything like this (I could be Wrong). Believe me though Tracking all this down on the Internet has been half the fun, if it works yay if not, well... Lets not think about that yet.
