I recently purchased a 700xx and had it shipped from Minnesota to where I live in Nevada. Upon inspection I noticed a large amount(probably 3 ounces) of oil in the bottom of the airbox. I am hopeful that it is just excess oil from the air filter. I actually "mopped" it up with a few clean rags. Just wondering where else it may have come from??? Any Ideas??

I guess if I had to put a color to it I would say light green....just went out and wiped a clean whit rag and that is the color. also noticed a small reservoir(hole??) on the front left side of the air box.....guess I need to read the manual.

If the bike has been end up for any length of time, oil will come back from the gear box breather and fill the air box. I clean mine end up regularly, and leave it end up to dry for several hours, and then the oil begins to run back from the gear box breather

I went out riding last weekend and was practicing wheelies for about 30 min. ,got to where i could ride some long wheelies then stopped to have a little break and was looking at chain to make sure it was alright because i just tightened it a little before i rode and noticed engine oil everywhere underneath the airbox. i have the breather drain tube off bottom of airbox. apparently when i was riding wheelies the engine oil was blowing out the crankcase breather. it looked like i had an automatic chainluber like on a chainsaw there was so much oil blowing out. i checked the oil after and it was still full enough. i could ride wheelies all day on my 400ex and never get any oil in airbox. i may of had the oil overfull on the 700xx.

I have never had that problem and I ride a lot of road wheelies with mine. You must of had it overfull, but even then I dont know if that would cause that.
