As most of you know I have a Supertrapp exhaust which is great, love the thumping sound but had OCC made me a mid pipe and noticed last week that I had an exhaust leak at both ends of the mid pipe so I bought some stuff that supposedly works great on cars but our exhaust gets so hot the stuff basically got so hard that it was peeling off today so I took the mid pipe off and noticed that they did not do that great of a job so now I'm asking you all if you know of a pipe builder so I can get it done better. I'm now using my SR4 since I know that it doesn't leak and perform well but it's not my Supertrapp.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Chuck

Thanks for the info but they are all on the west side of PA, too far away. I need to find one that is either on the east side of PA or basically anywhere in NJ since I'm in NJ most of the time.

I would but I don't have any time off to drive up there again and knowing them, they would want the bike over night which I do not want to do since I'll be heading towards Hatfield soon. If I could find someone closer to me then it would be easier. I did some research awhile back and there are allot of custom pipe builder but most of them are for cars and they won't touch an atv. There's a local bike shop that I'm going to talk tonight and see if they can help, supposedly they know someone that builds pipe for dirt bikes.

Spoke to my bike shop and they do have someone there that builds exhaust systems so they ask me to drop the bike off and he'll look at it. So now I need to "secure" the bike since all the plastic is off.

Thanks for all the help.

Just an FYI, The more you muffle the the exhaust by adding disc the hotter the header will get. You may know this already but figured it was worth mentioning.

FYI> More disc=Better Flow=Louder=Less heat
Less disc=Less Flow=Quieter=More Heat

At this moment I'm using 10 disc which is about 60% of all the disc and is quiet enough for me and the flow is good, the only time that my header gets hot is when we are riding technical trails which we all know that's normal for the beast. This is the 4th bike that I've used the Supertrapp exhaust and knock on wood, haven't had any problems.
Another thing about amount of disc, more disc equals less torque and more top end where less disc equals more torque and less top end. Usually you'll have the bike setup between 10-13 disc depending on the sound you want.

Gotcha, I never looked into them much and didn't realize more disc made it quieter. I'm bout to google it and learn myself something.

Well the guy finally showed up last night after been at the dealer's for a week and said that he can build me a header/mid-pipe for my Supertrapp at $75 an hour which should take not more than 4 hours but he doesn't think that it will be ready by this weekend which is ok with me since I do have my SR4 which I will sell once the Supertrapp is done. Who knows; he might have it done since he'll be stopping by the dealer tomorrow night to get all the measurements.
