Well I didn't take last, lol. I raced in the Open class against 11 other guys and took 9th. Overall, I placed 34th out of 70, so I think I did pretty good for myself. Of all the bikes, I was the only one on a 700XX, and I think I had the biggest motor of everyone. When I was looking around before the start, I saw 2 Raptor 660's, and a Brute Force 650SRA, and they were the closest in engine cc's to mine. I also had the 4th heaviest quad, next to the Brute Force, a Rancher AT, and a Yamaha Big Bear that all raced the utility class. The race was 1 1/2 hours plus one lap, so I was happy to just finish, since I had pretty bad arm pump after the first lap, and ended up with 10 total laps completed. A few of the guys finished with 11 total laps, and they were flyin past me in the trails. Overall, I had a blast, and will probably do it next year too, but I'm going to have to do some cardio so my arms don't start pumpin after one lap, lol. I didn't get many pictures or video, but I put all the video together. It is all of the step-up jump where my friends and family were watching at.

My first ever race, and boy can I really appriciate how good of shape those pros must be in, and how good of shape I used to be in, lol. I'm sure it was a bit more challenging on the 700 compared to a lighter 450, and I could tell. I haven't had much seat time in the trails on the new bike, and my arms definately were sore, even minutes into the first lap. For a long time I would power shift on the straight aways and try and save my left arm for clutching in the tight areas. It didn't help that my clutch is way stiff anyway either. I think that if I do any more of these races, I'm going to have to work on my cardio. I know I could have done better if the arm pump wasn't as bad. I am sore today, but not as sore as the first days of wrestling practice in high school, even though I blew off work to sleep til noon, lol.

Looks like they set the track up a little differently, and good job to you. Was there 24 people overall or just in your class?
