polaris outlaw 525 irs front shocks

has anyone tried putting the front shocks from the polaris outlaw 525 irs on the front of the 700xx? are they the same length as the front 700xx shocks?

I went to a local dealer awhile back and there was a 700xx and 525irs side by side and the 700xx seemed to have the same Fox shocks on the front as the 525 irs did.They seemed to fit pretty good.Couldn't see any mods done to the shocks or chassis , seemed a bolt on mod.

Ok thanks for the help. Think i might have to try putting the 525 irs shocks on my 700xx then ineex something better up front then the stock honda shocks.

i ma be interested in doing this if it is a bolt on are you sure its a for sure bolt on, i would think the fox shock would be way better than the ds 450 shocks but i dont know?:xx:

won't know if the 525 front shocks are a direct bolt on for the 700xx until i order up a 525 front shock and just try it. but if they are they would be way better than the stock 700xx front shocks by far.

I will probably be ordering the 525 irs shocks on wednesday. So taht I can try this before snow starts to fly. i can't afford elka's so I hope that the 525 shocks will fit. somebody said that they were a direct fit i thought?

iv saw a fue nice sets off a 700 raptor on ebay for under 200 not quite sure if they would work or not though

thanks for the links they helped out a lot maybe I will look into the outlaw 405 front shock as well and then buy which ever set I find cheaper. thanks a lot.

ordered the 525irs front shocks from ebay today. I will have to order some outlaw springs for them, but I got the shocks for 100 bucks each so i don't think that i did too bad on them. it beats paying 600 bucks for elka's and the fox ones have got to be better than the stock honda front shocks right.

yeah the foxes will be way better they have more adjustments , it depends on how much you weigh, i just got my elkas today but wont be able to install them for a day or two, ilucked out and bid on some new stg4 elkas and won they are 1500 new and got them for the price of stg1 preload adj only the stg4 has high and low speed comp adj and rebound and comp and spring preload adj. they have a reservoir on shock too. the elkas with res. are lighter than the stk shocks with no res.! cant wait to try them!:xx:

same here I can't wait to get the fox ones from ups when they get here. i'll have to find the springs to go on them though, but I think i seen some 525 springs on ebay for like 20 bucks so that won't be a big deal to find some i don't think. I'll let you know how I like the fox shocks when i get them put on.

please keep us updated as much as possible. Im extremely interested and have a friend with a 525irs who just upgraded all 4 shocks on his bike and said he would give me his if they fit. good luck with everything

okay I will keep you updated on my progress. I will have to order some springs for the shocks on wednesday and wait for them to come in before I can put the shocks on. but I will look them over when I get them and let you know what you will have to do to get them to fit okay.

I got my 525 irs front shocks in yesterday, and got the bushings and spacer pressed out today. going to try to and get them mounted tomorrow and then my springs for them will be here next week. And then I can get the springs put on the shocks and get them on the 700xx and go ride it. I just got the 525 fox podiums that come on the 08 outlaw 525 irs. will let you guys know tomorrow if this mod will work on the 700xx.

hey were your polaris outlaw shocks direct bolt on the 700xx?

The outlaw shocks aren't a direct bolt on, but with some minor modification of the top bushing they will fit.
