ok finally got my nerfs and bumper after 3 months

so here is a review

fitment issues = yes

i had to trim the plastic on the side to clear the mount otherwise the plastic interfears with the peddles/levers

once I got the left side one with no bolts tight the front pipe was bent towards the back of the bike and wouldnt let the right side slip on

once I got it sliped together I had to hit the front mount with a board and a hammer to align the holes

as for the bumper it went pretty smooth i had to lift one side to help start the last bolt but nothing id be concerned about

summery = pro armor is slow fitment is unsatisfactory and all in all once you get them and get them on they should be a nice addition to your bike

I just hope pro armor can pull thier heads out and start building a better quality product not only for thier sake but for the future our sport

ill try to post some pics tomorrow

Pretty sad if the fitment issue isn't corrected yet....
Did you get the black? I still can't get an answer yet of where mine are at... Both Pro Armor and my dealer are just killing me on this. Everytime I call it sounds like someone has somewhat of an idea of what is going on but no one really knows.

Actually for the price I paid I can live with them but I'm still waiting on one bumper

I ordered two full setups bumper/nerfs/skidplates one black (mine) one natural (my friends)

I'm still waiting on the natural bumper

I had the same problems with mine..I had to fool around with it for several hours to get all the holes to line up. I had to open up the hole by the front a-arms..trim the plastic by the foot pegs.. and use hex head bolts instead of socket head...it was a pain...Would I do it again ?? YUP !! I really like the way they look...

If you got black be prepared to:
1. Touch it up with black paint when the so called "powder coating" flakes off, Never ever in my life have I seen powder coating ever just flake off!!
2. Replace it after the welds break
You'll repeat steps 1 and 2 god knows how many times until you figure out it'll never ever end....

I've had my nerfs since Jan 09, and I havent had a either one of those problems, some of the paint is off due to racing and rubbing against people and trees, but I haven't had a single weld break and I have hit them pretty hard.

I agree the paint/powdercoat is going to come off eventually anyway if i wanted something that looks like it came off the showroom it would be a garage ornament

if your powdercoat flaked off than more than likely it was not preped properly and proarmor should fix it but if you had it along time I doubt they will

I was talking about the black pro xc bumper. After all the trouble I've had with 2 broken Pro Armor bumpers and skid plates that I had to make fit because the holes were not drilled correctly I decided against anymore trouble with their nerf bars.

The second one they sent me did the same exact thing. No hits, no damage, just flaked off. It's not too hard to prep metal properly to accept powder coating. I helped my friend with his business for a few years doing the prep work alone for powder coating. I also did my own brackets, valve covers, intakes, and other bits and pieces on my Mustang drag car. Never once had anything flake off on me. They replaced it once. After the second time I gave up on them and made my own making it look EXACTLY like theirs. No welds have broke and it's been on there for 6 months now. I guess because I'm using U.S made materials rather than low quality Chinese crap.

Lmao I threatened them twice with making my own faster than waiting on them I was told the second time I could buy someone else's bars and I almost did if dg had some in stock I would have bought them instead

And yes prepping for powdercoat is the easiest job ever but if they don't do it it will flake off and if it did it twice to you I don't blame you for giving up on them.

They have a long way to go before they see anymore of my money

Ironically Pro Armor ,ITP and OMF/DWT 10" rims seem to be the only parts that are going to last all 7 rounds of tree dodging in the UK. :D

Besides the fitment issue, I haven't had a problem with mine.
