Just searchin around and stumbled on this, I had seen these years ago in DirtWheels and have thought about it before but now they do have a kit for the XX. The complete kit will set you back about $3500.00, sure looks like fun.

Can be found through Tucker Rocky.

How much do used snowmobiles run?
You can find a machine in any price range, $3500.00 will buy a machine a few years old with a couple thousand miles on it. What will make the tracks worth it less storage space, insurance, less maintance and the fact that snowmobilers hate atv's on their trails. With a set of tracks there is not a darn thing they can say.:D Plus an atv with tracks can go more places and blaze more trails.

Here no ATV's are allowed on the snowmobile trail regardless if it has tracks or not. Snowmobile clubs are insured for snowmobiles only.
Yea I just don't see the point of it for that much $. I'd just buy a slightly used sled.
the snowmobilers try to tell us we aren't allowed on the trails here.. but the bylaws say we are. the trails they decide to groom and use just happen to be the trails that i use and maintain(clear trees, etc) all summer long.. so fuck them if they think they can kick me off my trails.
i was up in the hills this weekend and saw a bunch of the dirt bikes with the ski and track conversion and talked to a couple of the riders and they said they would take a snow bike over a snowmobile any day, they did have sleds there to. and the good thing is you can ride them year around instead of having a sled in the garage and not knowing if there is going to be enough snow to use it. i have a couple of pictures and a little video but not sure how to post them up here .
