from riding in the dunes a lot more here lately I've been asking other people questions about what they have done to their bikes. (especially the ones that win) They all say that the speed is in the gearing, most of them have went down one in the front and up two in the back, so ive been thinking about doing it too, or something similar. what do ya'll think the best sprocket setup for drag racing the xx in about 300' strips?

Its hard to say what sprocket to use because it depends on the power you have to pull it. I personally am running a 15 tooth front and stock rear sprocket and I like it alot.

well a 12t front is the equivalent of down 1 in the front and up two in the rear

It depends what you want and the build you have. If you only have the big 3 I would say stay with the stock gearing. 15 tooth I dont think it will pull as hard with the big 3 and 13 tooth is too much low end and too short of gears for drag racing. And I havent been able to find anything very cheap for the rear sprocket at all.

Like crash said 13 tooth makes the gears too short and its nohing but wheels up. However I:'m running the 15 tooth and to me it works really well. It also tops out at 83 MPH.

Tire size also makes a difference... I run 22 in tires with 15 front and 36 rear. Im hoping to do a few more things for power and hit triple digits

Where did you find the 36 sprocket ???
Sorry for digging up an old post, but I am wondering the same thing. I have found larger rear sprockets, but nothing smaller then a 37 tooth rear. Anyone found a 36 or 35 tooth rear sprocket?
