Long time I have been here!

Trying to find out the xx conrod spec vs the xr650r, trying to know if I can build a short rod stroker. Hotrods seems to be unvailable yet, I ordered it in december.....

Also maybe I can find another brand conrod to fit, the goal is to keep stock wrist pin location.

The XR650r conrod is smaller big end bearing, smaller little end bearing and alot longer than the xx conrod eye to eye. I have the specs somewhere. Just can't find them at the moment.
I contacted Falicon and they said it would be a custom built rod or you may need to build a spacer plate for the cylinder.

i dont know how it will effect the comp ,is it an hot rod crank?:confused:

you can get strokers built from several they just are not cheap if you did a 3 mil stroke you could run that with a .060 base stack up and a oe length rod or run a 4 mil with a offset piston and a larger base stack

generally looking at about a grand for a new rod/bearings stroke and balance + piston if needed

broke you would have to do the math but i would guess a half point ish nothing major

the longer the better on the rod imo as long as it fits and you dont lose skirt coverage

i had a crankworks 350x stroker that absolutely RIPPED. they pressed the rod and smooshed it to fit with no spacer plate. maybe they could do the same with XX?

when you stroke it you have to make it up some place either a shorter rod, or longer rod or same size with the cylinder spaced up. off set piston etc there is a bunch of ways to do it. if you have 84mm of travel and you change it to 88 90 etc its going to move an extra 2-3mm down and 2-3mm up.

there needs to be clearence in the cases for the rod end to travel, the piston needs to withhold its skirt coverage from coming down further and you need room up top so it dont wack the head

when you start adding stroke with a shorter rod you start changing the rod angle as well which is when the piston travels to bdc the rod will be more horizontal the further you go. this adds to the side load of skirt pressure which creates drag.

Me r BrokenBones? I just received mine a few days before this post was made. I've been running just a BB. I sent the crank in over a yr ago and just got it back..... I actually thought they'd lost it and was BS me. I'll give them 2-3 months credit on the time when we were looking at different stroke options and rods available. I pulled the motor last week before I came offshore, When I get in next week it'll get installed.

Sorry Smooth I orded it in june 2011 and got it in septembre 2012 !!!!!!

Did not have time to work on the xx yet, I have been so busy because of my job.
So from what I understand this crank need to be balanced with cp piston?
