From the looks of his left foot on the peg it looks like it surprised him...did it?

Yes it did, the landing wasn't very graceful as he grabbed a handful of brake when he touched down. Needless to say he mellowed out a bit after that jump.

I've d0one that before coming out of a wheelie. Jammed both of my wrists and almost bit the bar.
